Good base for the South Coast, Highlands, Westman Islands
Reviewed By Kim TWe picked Borg Apartments as our base for two nights for exploring the South Coast and the Westman Islands. It could also be a good choice for Highland detours to Landmannalaugar or Þórsmörk. Before our arrival we got all the information we needed for contactless check-in. All apartments have key boxes. There were enough parking spaces for all guests. The apartment was a decent size with a fridge and a well-equipped kitchen (microwave, oven, pots/pans etc.). We had picked up groceries in Selfoss on the way and were able to self-cater during our stay. The location worked out well for what we had planned and I would not hesitate to book again.

Great location, but in need of some renovation
Reviewed By Fiona IThe apartments are in the perfect location to explore the Golden Circle sights and the town they are in has a couple of nice restaurants to use. However, the apartment we were in was desperately in need of renovation. Some stuff was aesthetic - like cracked tiles or dead flies smushed in the window blinds - which I suppose isn’t too big a deal really. But some stuff was more serious and affected our enjoyment of our stay. The bathroom was particularly bad - the shower head was broken so that you had to hold the shower and shower with one hand. My husband managed to rig it up temporarily with a shower curtain hook but we were so worried it would fall down, it made showering quite stressful! Also the flush on the toilet kept jamming so that the cistern would keep filling up and would have flooded the bathroom if we didn’t manually stop it after each use, which was also stressful. The apartment clearly just hasn’t been renovated for some time. I’ve just seen reviews a few weeks before us which list the same thing, and also I messaged the owner. So clearly they are aware - hopefully this means that they will fix things so that this isn’t an issue for future guests.

Reviewed By Geoff DWould give 4.5 if possible. Nice large room the all the main amenities with a good view. My wife felt the bathroom was cold but she spends more time there than me - I didn’t notice ;-) Nice to be able to drive up to the room.

It is a nice and cozy place to stay and in the cottage we found a little notebook where you can write about your sleepover and your Iceland experience. A really nice idea, but we forgot to bring a pen. Sorry for that, hence this review online! I enjoyed reading all the good tips everyone shared and to read that people from all over the world are positive to stay here; so are we! About the cottage itself; there is everything you need. The kitchen provides the equipment you need to cook any meal you want (including a fridge to keep things fresh). The bathroom has a underfloor heating; so luxurious! The beds are comfortable and you can park your car nearby We recommend this place. It was easy to book and we had a nice stay here. Thank you for having us!

Great first night on our Ring Road trip
Reviewed By Julie DThis cottage was the best. Host was more than welcoming with details and fruit, wine and skyr in the fridge. Comfortable and inviting, Such a nice location. She also had washer and dryer but we were on day one so did not need it. Hot tub was great, the perfect oasis after a full day of sights and travel from Reyk. Highly recommend this host and location for your ring road overnight or to use as a couple nights stay in the area.

A word of caution!
Reviewed By Lorab57We had booked a #3 cottage months ago only to find out when we arrived that the middle cottage had been split into three small units so #3 was now the size of a walkin closet. Instead of it being a whole cottage as we had booked, it was a tiny space with a hot plate, mini fridge and two twin beds adjoined by two larger apartments on either side. Not even room for our suitcases. No action was taken by the owner even though a larger space was vacant. This was a big disappointment and we cut our stay short. #2,3&4 are a cottage split in three, #1 are cottages. This was the only problem we had with our Iceland accommodations. Too bad, location was nice.

Reviewed By IlaVal27Bellissimo alloggio in posizione strategica per visitare Hveragerði e Reykjadalur. Molto comodo il self check-in con cassetta di sicurezza. La casetta è arredata con gusto e la cucina è piccola ma funzionale. Bagno un po' antiquato, con porta che non si chiude perfettamente. Comunque utilizzabile senza problemi.

The apartments in The New Post Office are all fully furnished apartments ranging in size from 28 to 38 square meters. They all come with a private bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and dining table, living room and a private balcony. They have either a double bed or two single beds and an extra sofa bed is in the living room, along with a smart TV that has access to Netflix. Of course we offer our guests free Wifi. You have access to storage, for example for your bike or your golf set. A shared general space on the ground floor has a lounge, ice machine, the largest sundeck on the island, bathrooms and more where you can get together, meet the other guests and relax.
