If you are a connoisseur of red meat this is a must eat do not miss this place. They only serve ribeye and that is fine by me, snce it's one of the most amazing ribeye steaks you will ever consume. You tell them how many ounces you want how you want it cooked and other than the drink that's the only decision you need to makeAs many have said there is not much seating 10 or 12 tables at best come prepared to tailgate or wait in your car it is well worth the wait.

Pup's Steakhouse

Reviewed By Panatic

Saturday evening dinner party of four. Our second visit and our out of town guests' first time. As many restaurants are typically booked the few days after Thanksgiving, we were fortunate to book a table at Pup's. We were immediately seated and, while our server was polite and pleasant, he seemed a little scattered when he asked for our drink order and disappeared before taking it. About 15 minutes later he returned and then needed to find a wine list for the ladies and couldn't tell me if the bar had any premium tequilas (they don't). One of our group had to go to the bar and make sure the order was correct, and when our drinks did arrive, one of the ladies got a glass of wine with crushed ice in it?Really? When the drinks were served, we thought it best to go ahead and order apps and dinner, not knowing how long between server visits we'd be waiting. It wasn't crowded, mind you, there were no waiting parties and not all of the tables were filled. Oyster apps? Nope, all out of oysters unless you wanted fried. And they offer a half page of oyster items, including steamed, raw, grilled, salt-baked and Rockefeller. A full 25% of their menu space is dedicated to oysters, but not a single one to be had. Braised kale as a side (not my choice, but another in our party)? Nope, all out of kale. So, we did get our meals in a timely manner and the server was very good for the most part. The food was very good as well. I had a 10oz NY strip, asparagus (5 very thin stalks) and the mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was actually made with penne, not macaroni, and a yellow & white cheese combo with good flavor. The steak was almost a perfect temp for me and the rest of our party were all happy with their entrees as well. Overall, the experience got off to a rocky start but ended better than I thought it might. The server was making a good effort and the food was good. It's disappointing at any dining experience when you begin hearing, "Sorry, we're out of ..." or the server tells you, "We only have Cuervo Gold and 1800."The first time we had dinner at Pup's about a year or so ago, I was very happy to recommend it to anyone and was pretty impressed. I have to say now, however, they've taken a step backwards. As good as a steak can be, often times it cannot overshadow the entire experience.

We stopped at the Western Sizzlin for lunch and for nostalgic reasons. All the Western Sizzling restaurants in our area closed. We had excellent service, good food, and the facility was very clean. The prices were reasonable. You can order a meal or have the buffet bar or both. They have a salad bar, baked potato bar and dessert bar. The dessert is included with a meal. We enjoyed our visit.

My nephews' graduation celebration was catered by Ward's. I fell in love with the collards and my daughter loves the coleslaw. Whenever I am in town, I go by and get containers to go. The staff is most friendly to talk to while my takeout order is being put together.
