This place doesn't do reservations and they don't have to. We were told we would have to wait and they don't take reservations. You wait outside and they come and get you when your table is ready. This little restaurant served the best steak I've had in a very long time. You don't chose the options, you get to choose the thickness of your ribeye and it comes with salad, Texas Toast, and a baked potato. No other meats or steak cuts. Perfect!

This little store, tucked away from the main drag, has fresh, made daily, donuts of all kinds. I have been coming here for years, and have never had a disappointing experience. BUT, go early. Once the donuts of the day are sold, they close! A local tradition.

Parker's Barbecue

Reviewed By JonesieLinthicum - Linthicum, MD

We stopped here on our way to South Carolina from the Northeast. We ordered the complete dinner, which included barbecue, fried chicken, coleslaw, Brunswick stew, and hush puppies and/or corn sticks. The barbecue was finely chopped pork that was so tender it bordered on mushy. The fried chicken was well-seasoned and crunchy, if a bit overcooked. The coleslaw was bright yellow and tangy, and the Brunswick stew included a lot of vegetables, if no discernible meat. Service was quick and cordial. They don't accept credit cards, but prices are so low, you probably won't mind producing some cold, hard cash. We enjoyed our meal, which was absolutely the best bargain of the entire ten-day trip.

Pelican's SnoBalls

Reviewed By Mdgrl79 - Ringwood, New Jersey

During our drive back from Florida to New Jersey, my husband & I stayed at a hotel in the area and stumbled upon Pelican's SnoBalls. From afar, we thought it was an ice cream place and were surprised to find out it is strictly a flavored shaved ice place! We don't normally have shaved ice in NJ, but we were game to try something a little different. Upon arrival, we were both totally stumped as to what flavor to try, as they have so many! Decisions, decisions! I settled on guava and papaya because I love "unique" fruits. I really enjoyed the guava. The papaya was good, but a tad too sweet. My husband had the iced tea and lemonade. I had a little of his, and that one tasted great. When we are in the area again, we will definitely be back! Oh, and the people there were so very nice, very polite and social, which was a huge plus!

La Rancherita Grill and Tequila Bar

We found this place last year on our way to South Carolina and we went back again this trip. No wait for a table for lunch this past Monday. Friendly staff, quick service and a clean place. A couple miles off 95 but well worth the stop. The chips and salsa were again awesome. We tried the lunch Steak Fajita Quesadillas and the Grilled Chicken Quesadillas. Both were very good and filling. We recommend this place and we will continue to stop here on our trips down 95.

This is probably our favorite restaurant in Wilson. We went again this week and the food was good as always. Started with Fried Green Tomatoes. I had Prime Rib special with mashed potatoes and asparagus. My wife had Filet with blue cheese crumbles with the same sides. For dessert we had the Bread Pudding which is fantastic!

Cracker Barrel

Reviewed By sunfun4850 - North Fort Myers, Florida

We like Cracker Barrel because their foods are usually consistent and when traveling you can be in and out in an hour. The service here at 1 pm on a Thu was efficient. We were seated right away. The server came to the table in 2 minutes. He told us that he would be right with us after he served the next table. Another came over and took our order. The foods came out within 10 minutes and was hot! We had the Thu special, Turkey with dressing and ordered the sweet potato casserole, delicious. The salad with grilled chicken had burnt chicken. We complained and the server brought out a plate of grilled chicken in 5 minutes. The chicken is very thin and doesn't need much time on the grill. The $5.99 lunch is very good price if not burnt.

Chick-fil-A

Reviewed By Theodore K - Derby, New York

This should have been a five star review if I was just reviewing the food and service. Food was great; fast, friendly, and efficient service. Typical Chick-Fil-A: awesome.

The reason I dropped a star was because of there lack of attentiveness to the play place. I know it's not supervised and the parents are supposed to watch their own children but they should at least keep "an eye out" that their rules are being followed.

There were some children in there that were too big/old to be in there. Two boys were in an all out wrestling match. At one point one of them put hands on my granddaughter and that did it for this grandpa.

I took it on myself to discover and talk with the two moms engrossed in their conversation while allowing the unsupervised play place to babysit for them. They "talked" with the boys but continued to ignore them afterward so the talk did no good.

I finally had to tell my granddaughter we were going to leave. If you're going to have a play place and have rules (age, height, conduct, or whatever) there should be some form of enforcing those rules.
