We came here to celebrate a birthday. Since it touts itself as a Wisconsin supper club, we tried the old fashioned for a cocktail. They make them right. The spinach salad with hot bacon dressing was excellent. The entrees, two different steaks and pork tenderloin, were all cooked properly and served hot. However, the French onion soup, although tasty, had way too many large chunks of bread in it. We were hoping for dessert, but there were no gluten-free options. This restaurant is small so tables are quite close together and parts of it were quite noisy. Also, coming in or leaving is through the bar and when it's busy, that's tricky, especially for anyone who has any mobility problems.

We have visited the Johnny's in Middleton, WI a couple times & have had very great experiences - great food, atmosphere & pleasant, professional staff. We were elated when the Sun Prairie, WI location opened, as it is closer to many other attractions we frequent. We visited the Sun Prairie location for the first time this past Friday night for the first time & had the worst experience imaginable. We had booked a reservation a couple nights ahead online & had made it for 7pm. Upon arrival they did not have a table or booth ready & asked us to be seated at the bar until they were ready. While taking our name for the reservation the younger host was unprofessionally scrutinized by what appeared to be the manager for not knowing how to use the tablet system correctly.We sat at the bar, where there was staff directly infant of us but were never greeted nor asked if we wanted to order a drink or look at a menu while we waited. Another customer came in & stood at the bar, where staff quickly attended to her for her pick up order. We were seated within 15 minutes at a TABLE when we had requested a BOOTH when they had given us a preference. A table, no big deal ... but the tables that surrounded us were nothing like the atmosphere we expect of Johnny's... there were kids running around, the table next to us was beyond loud & obnoxious. We were really looking forward to going out, as we don't do this very often, and here we cannot even hear each other across the table. We were greeted by out waitress (the only positive part of our evening). She was attentive & we shortly ordered out food. We were served the salad & bread & shortly later our meals came. We have never been disappointed in Johnny's cuisine but we were mortified at my boyfriend's steak (22oz). He had ordered it medium rare...this thing was beyond red/pink. We sent it back to the kitchen & within 5 minutes the manager brought his plate back out with the few pieces of steak he had already cut up as well as his original steak. Within one bite, it was clear they had MICROWAVED the damn plate. The potatoes with steaming hot, the plate itself was hot & the steak was no longer freshly cooked but dried out and had the "microwaved" taste. This was the worst dining experience I have ever been a part of.... I could continue on about how the manager disrespected her staff and how the 3 other tables around us also had incorrect order or something wrong with their meals, but I think I have made my point...We hope to return to Johnny's in Middleton, as we know we won't be disappointed, but as for the Sun Prairie location, we will NEVER step foot in there again. Absolutely disappointing...Courtney - thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am very disappointed to hear about your recent experience and sincerely apologize for a very unfortunate evening. You definitely did not receive the true Johnny's experience - sounds like the exact opposite. I can assure you I have taken your review to management and it is being handled internally in hope something such as this does not happen again. This is being addressed with management, servers, hosts and culinary team. A lot of misses on our end. I do not want this to be your lasting impression. It was 1 oâclock in the afternoon the restaurant was slow the restaurant is clean the food was delicious the service was slow the waitress brought Out the salads first and forgot the soup without the salads and then forgot the dressings still a delicious meal you canât go wrong

Here I am, sitting at the bar and enjoying the wonderful company of other patrons, the staff and Sal. The food - outstanding. The chef, he excels in creating dishes and cooking the most wonderful Italian food there is.Award winning cuisine. World class.No other place as good and authentic.Want to come back again and again.Sal - you are so very special. Thanks for your care for your customers.

We often drive to Madison on Highway 12 and have wondered about Nora's Two right on the highway. This summer, we decided to stop for an early breakfast as the sign said breakfast was served every day. We ate at the bar and enjoyed the banter of the friendly regulars who knew we were newcomers but we really felt welcome. The bartender/waiter was a wonderful guy who we really enjoyed talking with. Standard bacon and eggs affair was exactly what we were hungry for. We've had a couple of breakfasts there and are looking forward to lunch or supper sometime soon. Certainly worth a stop!

the three star review is probably a gift. we were seated right away but it took around 10 minutes for anyone to come and he apologized and said someone seated three tables for him at once. Ok, I get it, and everyone was training someone so they were obviously short staffed, so some leeway was given on our part. we got our drinks and salad pretty much right away. I guess I'm just turned off by fake nice. He started yelling "here's your food" when he was like 5 tables back, would throw it down on the table and walk away. my drink was empty by the time my entree came and was never refilled. My husband's steak was juicy, and cooked perfectly but lacked any seasoning. husbands plate was cleared, I was still eating and still no drinks and now his was empty. I hear him yelling across the restaurant "here you go" and he tosses the bill on the table and goes. now, he has a table right across the aisle that he's being attentive to, refilling drinks, asking how the meal tastes but we get nothing. We are pretty easy going, tend to tip probably 35% for good service but his whole demeanor was terrible, service was poor at best and I felt like an inconvenience to him from the start.
