We love it and got married there in 1976. Beautiful gardens with labeled plants, wonderful walkways and a shuttle tour. Really enjoyed Butterflies and Blooms, Holiday Flowers and model train show. Beautiful Thai Pavilian, etc. Well worth your time.

Little Amerricka

Reviewed By Richard K - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Little Amerricka is a throw back of the many smaller amusement parks that used to be around in the 50's and 60's when I was growing up, except it's better. Rides tickets can be purchased individually at $1.50 each, or with wrist bands that vary in cost from $11.95 to $18.95, based on age and height allow access to all the designated rides all day. There are more rides and attractions and all are aimed at children, providing a wonderful experience for them. It is like a trip back in time on an old wooden roller coaster, Metor, or the metal coaster, the Mad Mouse, along with Tilt-a-whirl, The Scrambler, Parachute drop, a train, a monorail, bumper cars and boats, a haunted house, and many, many more. You can definitely spend the day, and they even have picnic grounds and you can bring in your own food and refreshments (although alcohol is not allowed). If not, there are concessions available on the grounds. Everything is close enough that you don't have to walk for miles to get through the park. It is a great way to spend a family day with children.

Came here for my first time last year and had an amazing experience. Had a gift card to the whole evening wasn't bad at all as far as cost. The seats were almost too comfortable, but loved being able to pre-assign. Everything we ordered from the menu was great. Had a Cherry Hurricane, Pretzel Sticks with dipping sauces and Mini Donuts with dipping sauces for dessert. Had I not had the gift card, this would have been a pricey night out, but it would be something I'd do anyway maybe once or twice a year.

Wisconsin State Capitol

The majestic Roman Renaissance-style State Capitol has the only granite dome in the U.S. and inside has over 40 different types of stone from around the world as well as murals and handmade furniture. The observation deck, open in the summer, offers views of the city and surrounding lakes. Capitol Square plays host to state events throughout the year including Farmers Markets and Folk Festivals.

This State Capitol is stunningly beautiful. It has beautiful grounds, marble flooring and columns, stately governor’s office, senate, assembly and Supreme Court rooms, and, best off all, protesters who have gathered every day since Scott Walker’s election in 2011. They sing protest songs at noon every single day! What’s not to love?

No visit to UW would be complete without a visit to the student union and its famous terrace. The terrace has unparalleled views of the lake and is jammed in the nice weather. There are wonderful plaques honoring famous graduates and detailing important events all around the grounds as well. It’s worth a look just for the views—-all else is a bonus.

I believe the couple that founded and owned Ski's Saloon sold it to a friend named Barr who renamed it. It has a friendly atmosphere, good beer, and as the current sign states, other potables as well. One tradition that has endured- the big sign on the wall outside. They change the messages every so often, they're always funny and you don't want to miss any of them.

Chazen Museum of Art

This art museum's impressive collection includes, prints, photographs, paintings and sculptures from prehistoric times to modern day. Special exhibitions showcasing local artists take place throughout the year.

Reviewed By Miranda B - Menasha, Wisconsin

The Chazen has a beautiful art collection! While I was not very impressed with the current temporary exhibit, the rest of the museum made up for it. Definitely a must see for Wisconsin art enthusiasts, plus it's free! The only thing I wouldn't recommend is bringing children...they would probably get bored and there's a particular erotic sculpture of two goats on the 3rd floor you won't want to have to explain to them.
