We had a really nice dinner here tonight. Casual and lively atmosphere with a good variety of menu options. Two of us ordered pizza which was the best pizza we’ve here on the southern coast of Maine, great crust. One of us ordered Seared Sea Scallops which were great, and my husband ordered a ribeye steak. The steak arrived not cooked as ordered and the waitress and manager/owner (not sure which) corrected the situation to perfection, and all without a hint of attitude. Fantastic service ladies! It is this customer service that put you into superstar category. Thank you for a really great evening.

The New England House

We arrived late and were staying in a hotel close by. Most of the other restaurants were booked so we went to the New England House because it was a close walk. Overall the service was poor, the waitresses seemed over worked and we had a hard time getting their attention. We were looking forward to eating lobster but it was over cooked. Overall we were not impressed with the service or the food and it was not cheap. Maybe it is better on other days but overall I’d skip The New England House, one of the worst restaurants on our holiday.

We were driving by and decided to stop for a meal. The place did not look like much but we had a great time. Nice people and a dog friendly outdoor eating area Their lobster rolls were very meaty and delicious. Good blueberry beer on draft and good clam chowder. Fair price too. A fire pit for a cool evening.

Mike's Clam Shack

Mike's Clam ShackWells, MEVisited here on Friday, 10/11 for dinner. Despite it being the start of a busy 3-day weekend, my husband and I were seated very quickly. We started with an order of onion rings as an appetizer. They were very good - needed a bit more seasoning at the table, but the coating was crispy and clung to the rings as you'd expect. For my entree I ordered the baby back ribs. They were cooked perfectly, the meat feel off the bone and had a satisfying smoky flavor. Unfortunately, the prime rib my husband wanted was no longer available so he went for his second choice of a chicken pot pie. The pie contained generous amounts of chicken in a flavorful gravy topped with a flaky crust. As far as sides, between us we had french fries, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. All the sides were good and the portions were generous. Our waitress was attentive throughout our time in the restaurant and was sure that drink refills were brought promptly and that dishes were cleared almost as soon as they were empty. Mike's is a go-to place for us when we visit Maine and they do never disappoint!

Amazing spot with 6 large live-lobster tanks and lobster options galore! Delicious lobster rolls with no "fill" ingredients like celery and tons of mayo. Large sacks of cooked and cracked lobster-to-go were carried out the door while we were there. Also here can be found numerous flavors of ice cream served in the largest cones we have seen. Beach across the road - fun place!

I don’t know how this restaurant has gotten such great reviews as the meal o had here was one of the worst in my life. I ordered the lazy mans lobster, it was tasteless and the consistency of rubber bands. The Brussel sprouts were undercooked and other root vegetables over cooked. When I was served the French fries included fell all over the table. The waitress apologized but didn’t clean the mess she made. My spouse ordered the Shore Dinner, a lobster in the shell, corn on the cob, French fries and steamers. The steamers were good, the corn mushy ( but it is past prime corn season) and lobster just OK. The best thing about the meal was the wine, which we didn’t finish but were allowed to take with us.

Top-notch food is served up quickly in this very popular restaurant. Service is friendly and accommodating. Both vegetarians and carnivores will find plenty to please them from a fairly extensive menu.We had two excellent breakfasts there recently. Mine, a wonderful concoction called El Tiante named after Red Sox pitcher Luis Tiant, was so good the first day, I had it again the next morning. What's not to like? Two poached eggs over a large serving of house-made corned beef hash, toast and an overflowing cup of quality fruit. What I particularly liked about this diner was the service. The place was packed on the second morning and my eggs weren't properly drained so the hash had a fair amount of water on top. When I pointed it out to our server, she whisked it back to the kitchen, had a fresh plate before me in just a few minutes, then thanked me for bringing the issue to her attention. That's the kind of service that guarantees loyalty.

I first visited here with a friend. We ordered at the window & sat outside. I found it odd that we had to pay at the window to sit outside, but then had to go inside to pick up our beer. I get that Maine law disallows passing beer through a window, but I don't get why we couldn't just order & pay inside even if we were sitting outside. Anyway, whatever the rules are, it was worth it!! The draft beer selection is complete, with all major types/styles of beer represented, & a few "guest tap" local brews. We at fried whole belly clams & drank beer in the sunshine! Perfect! I enjoyed it SO MUCH that I took my husband back a few days later. We sat inside & enjoyed everything there. My husband especially liked that the silverware was delivered in a mason jar & the napkins were actualy paper towels on a roll above the table. This is my kind of place, and we may return yet again before leaving the area. Oh, and the outside area is dog-friendly!

The location on Porpoise Cove is away from the throngs of downtown Kennebunkport. The food, the service the view were all excellent. The clam chowder was delicious, as was the salmon salad. We enjoyed Andrea, our waiter from Serbia. He was very solicitous. It has the same menu as the restaurant downstairs that was much more casual and not as nice. We made the right choice.
