Joshua's

Reviewed By kennebunklegal - University of Mississippi

We had a very good meal at Joshua's. I had the wood-grilled mushrooms to start with a bay scallop entree. My wife had mushroom bisque and filet mignon. Everything was of excellent quality, sufficient quantity, and cooked very well, except the bay scallop sauce was a bit heavier than expected for the dish and lacking in subtlety of flavoring that the rest of the meal had. It was still very good.
The atmosphere is also good. Nice music softly played in the background. No TVs. The walls bounce sound a bit, so it's hard not to hear conversations from other tables if the parties at those tables are not using fine dining voices!
Our server was quite good. Attentive, but not hovering.
The cocktails were not on the same level as the food. There is no beer on tap. Wine list is decent.

Borealis Breads

Reviewed By chris k - Ithaca, New York

This is a bakery that serves soups and sandwiches. It's very small and should really be thought of as a place to order sandwiches made to take out. The bread is made daily for many local restaurants and I feel lucky they have retail sales. The clerks are efficient and friendly. They have many different kinds of bread which are offered on different days. In other words, don't expect a full selection on any given day. The sandwiches are generous portions and the bread is thick.

The unique name of this little coffee/bagel shop is what first catches your eye, but when you walk inside and see its cozy country chic decor and taste their great bagel sandwiches you're instantly hooked. Coffee was decent, drinkable even to us coffee snobs who can't seem to find a good cup in the Wells, Ogunquit area. Bagel sandwiches were excellent! Husband had a spicy bagel sandwich with avocado, sriracha, egg and cheese that he loved. A nice little place to visit!

Stopped on our way out of Kennebunkport and it was well worth it. Lots of flavors to choose from. Ours were really good and rich (banana and chocolate chip, chocolate and peanut butter cups, and Kahlua brownie). Warning though they give you good size scoops so if you are between two sizes go for the smaller one. Unless you want two flavors, in which case you have to get at least the Medium sized cone.

Fisherman's Catch Restaurant

Reviewed By CyndyandByron - Bridgeton, New Jersey

Travel to the coast of Maine requires Maine seafood at least once. This quaint informal seafood restaurant sits on the original location of docks and has been in in operation since 1982, From chowder to lobster rolls to oysters to crab cakes to fried haddock and more. All freshly prepared and totally delicious. Beer was ice cold. Service was quick, but while you waited you could enjoy views of the marsh. Prices were extremely reasonable. This is a seasonal restaurant so be sure to check before you go. We went the last week of the season and the restaurant's faithful following were enjoying the last meal of summer.

The Steakhouse

We decided to try the Steakhouse for the first time. We were very pleased with the whole experience. We wanted a nice steak but the seafood selections sounded great too? So what do you do? Surf and turf of course. My husband & I both ordered the filet mignon tips which were perfectly cooked. I got the lobster tail which melted in your mouth and he got the stuffed shrimp. There was a special twice baked potato with a sour cream parmesan cheese sauce that was really yummy. Our waitress, Nicole was attentive and very friendly. We will definitely return on our next trip.

The newly renovated bar area is huge now and as bar people my wife and myself we love it! What else can I say other than it's hard to stay away from the Veal Parmigiana because it's the best in Maine, but we opted for the 15 dollar Special's and they were fantastic!. think about this my wife's 15 Dollar Eggplant Parm meal with tons of Ziti was so large she could not finish it and along with the great home made bread, Oil and cheese that just knocks it out of the Park!! Great job on the New Bar we are fans!!
