We eat here a lot, especially on Senior Citizen Days. It is the standard Captain D's menu and usually it is fixed well. The staff is usually very pleasant. Since the food is cooked to order it is not unusual to have to wait a bit for it. Probably the best seafood for the dollar spent in Trussville.

If you want real Mexican food, this is the place to go in Birmingham. A lot of the staff don't understand English real well but getting info on the menu is not a problem. We had several different meals at our table. One was the steamed seafood which they called vapor seafood that included fish, shrimp, and octopus. Very tasty. A shrimp cocktail that was tangy. I had fried Red Snapper which was good but a little over cooked. Everyone gets Ceviche as an appetizer and it is real good. The half pineapple with the Shrimp, fish and octopus is great. The margaritas are out of this world.

I was skeptical since I wanted an upscale place but we went ( over 90 Birthday). They easily accommodated her wheelchair (bathroom does also). The appetizers were okay but a lot of butter. The lobster dinner was also heavy with butter. Enjoyed the service and different foods. It was fine and then they brought her a slice of chocolate cake with ice cream. One of the best cakes Iâve had with chocolate sauce. It was so good that after checking a bakery we went back and bought a whole cake for her actual birthday. Best choice ever. And very reasonable price.

Saturday August 12th Our family gathered for dinner...the waitress was seemingly overwhelmed as she forgot to give us our salad...bringing our main coarse and no salad (which should have been included in the meal) the steaks were just ok and one ordered medium well and specifically requested "do not butterfly" came out so thin and over cooked that we have to assume it was butterflied. We complained to the manager and indicated we did not want to pay for that mean and he reluctantly agreed. Not impressed at all.

This is a fun restaurant that has live music many nights. They serve seafood as their main items. The service is good. My only issue was my snapper was over cooked and a little dry. The sauce made it better. Overall a good meal but could have been a little better. Thanks for your feedback! Sorry to hear about your snapper. Had been a year ago and been disappointed. This time service was very good and that made a difference. Ordered the oyster sampler and should have stopped there. It really was done right. Four of each type. Really great toppings. Served hot and just right. The salad was great before our fried oyster plate and the fried ouster and shrimp. We asked for lightly breaded and that was done. The oysters and shrimp were just perfect. The French fries were also. Throughly enjoyed our early dinner and would go back.
