I really like the lay out of the restaurant. You have plenty of room to enjoy your dinner. It has friendly laid back vibe.We had the Trout, which was the catch of the day. It was good, not the best I have ever had. But it was very good and a nice size portion. The sides of Brocolini and red potatoes was very good.We also had an order of the peel and eat shrimp. And let me tell you, the peel and eat shrimp was the star of the show. Nice size shrimp and perfectly cooked and seasoned. We will definitely go back. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Traveled to Hickory for this restaurant. It is located in the Lowe's plaza on route 70. What looks like a lot of parking disappears quickly at peak hours. There is a waiting area at the entrance if you are meeting other people. Inside there is plenty of seating, an extra dining room that can accommodate a large group, and an attached Oyster bar which opens at 4:00.. The restaurant is well kept and the staff is pleasant. As you enter the restaurant the daily specials are posted. Lunch menu is served until 4:00. While you wait for your order, you can munch on the fresh, complimentary hush puppies. We had the lunch menu and the food was very good and came in decent size portions. Pricing is customer friendly. There are no TVs and no Wifi. High chairs and booster seats are stored in a sanitary area.

This visit is my last. Wife and I and several friends went for dinner. I ordered the clam chowder for the first time. Also, the prime rib sandwich. Wife ordered the senior Alaskan white fish .The chowder was probably the worst Iâve ever had. Thin and watery, very salty and with very small pieces oh clam. 3 small slivers of potato. The prim rib was also very salty. It was fatty and very tough to chew. When wife fish came to the table it smelled horrible. Smelled rancid. Wife tasted it and said it tasted ok, she ate it. I would have sent it back.We have eaten at this place many times and overall liked it; never again

Small, super clean, well managed fish monger in the Viewmont section of Hickory, NC. The proprietor spent time in an ealier profession in the Hollywood / Fort Lauderdale are of South Florida working in the commercial fishing business. Need I say more.....OK, he sources some of the freshest fish from up and down the eastern sea board.

We were driving from Asheville to Charlotte and stopped at the Red Lobster in Hickory NC for lunch. There were 5 adults in our party. We were not immediately impressed -- as after being seated we waited and waited for someone to at least take drink orders or bring water. We finally had to get up and ask for attention.Monica came to the rescue and the rest of our meal was delightful. We ordered lots of different things, including clam chowder and seafood stuffed mushrooms, scallops and shrimp scampi, lobster tacos, mussels and more. Of course, the Red Lobster's cheese biscuits were gone in a flash. Thanks to Monica for turning what might have been a disappointing lunch into an enjoyable meal time.Hi, Kevin W. Thank you for sharing your feedback and giving the Hickory Red Lobster restaurant 4 stars! Your comments have been shared with our management team and we look forward to giving you a 5 star experience next time!
