Nothing crazy about this place, just great food. We had the special of the day chicken with sausage on top with white Mexican cheese, beans and rice. We also had a Cheese Quesadilla with the same sides. The chip and salsa was great, not to hot to our taste buds. We had a bottle coke and ice water. The waitress was really great. It does have some basic Italian and American food but I would get the Mexican food.Thank you for your review Henry, we hope to see you next time!

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant with an authentic feel of fiesta and fun. The wait staff is fast, friendly and professional. The food arrives fast, hot and plentiful. Order anything and be completely satisfied. Did I say the chips and salsa are the best? Definitely!

We were just passing through on our way to Charlotte, but it's definitely worth the short drive! The parking lot was packed at 5:30 so we knew it would be good. We didn't have to wait to be seated, and our waitress was right there to get our drink and appetizer order. The guacamole was heavenly with big chunks of avocado. Chips and salsa were good. For our main course I had the pollo de crema. It was really creamy and good. My husband had a dish with shrimp prepared two different ways, one creamy and one spicy with tomato sauce. I had a few bites of the creamy shrimp. It was delicious. I couldn't quite identify the spices, but they went together wonderfully. The service was exceptional and food great.

This is an authentic Mexican Restaurant, even the T.Vs are broadcasting Mexican channels. It is quite a large establishment, with a good sized bar, outdoor patio, and a big dining area. I sat at the bar, and was informed that the bar special, was my favorite Bud Light cans, for $1.99. My refreshment was an easy choice, but my dinner was another matter. The menu was so varied, with so many choices, that I had a hard time choosing. I settled on the Valarta special, which consisted of, two steak burritos, and a chicken quesadillo. Before ordering, I was given a Huge basket of nachos, and salsa, and I nibbled on them until my entree arrived, which was very quickly. I managed to eat one burrito, and most of my quesadillo. Both were delicious, but I just could get into the second burrito. Located in the back of a Mexican grocery store is where you will find this wonderful little taqueria. My hausband and I started with chips, salsa and guac. I dont know how to describe the chips, but they were not the basic restaurant chip. We would have happily eaten these chips as the whole meal. Lucky we didn't. We both had tacos. The option is for authentic Mexican which has your meat along with onion, cilantro and lime wedges or gringo with the typical expected toppings. Go for the authentic! Price is per taco $2-$2.50 depending on meat choice. You pick your drink up as you walk through the grocery to the back. A very filling lunch for 2 was under $15. Enjoy lunch here, you will be happy you did!

Salsarita's is your typical Mexican fast food. The offerings are usually fresh and the service is good. The restaurant offers a bar as well as typical Mexican food offerings. A good and inexpensive place for families with kids. Friendly, clean and not fancy.

We had driven by this restaurant many times on the way to others in Hickory area. We decided to stop in here to give it a try. It was not what we expected. The interior décor is well done. The service was friendly and very accommodating. They kept our glasses full and the chips and salsa full. There is also a salsa bar which is a nice touch to any Mexican restaurant.Our food was over cooked however. We ordered the Fajitas Texas to share. There was plenty of food for sure, but it had been over cooked and dried out. The flavor was decent but we have had better fajitas. The pitcher of margaritas was a value but lacked alcohol, tasted mostly like raspberry syrup. Our experience was quite average overall. It has a great feel and service. Our food was overcooked...YMMV. We are not likely return guests.

We were here for a work visit. We arrived on a late Sunday afternoon. When we visited it was not busy. What we found interesting about this place was the salsa bar. At least that is what we call it. They have a food area where you can go to and dip out whatever type of salsa that you would like to try. That was interesting and enjoyable to us. The food was average Mexican fare. WE found the salsa options to be the most interesting aspect to this eatery. Overall we were not huge fans of this restaurant, but maybe it is us as we note that they are rated fairly highly in the Hickory area.
