少々緊張した会合が終わり、ここは雰囲気を変えて美味しいものを食べよう！と衆議一決。川越には不釣り合い？なオイスターバーに行く事にしました。最近は海洋深層水で浄化した牡蠣が入手出来るため安心して各地の牡蠣を食べ比べる事が出来ます。北海道佐呂間に厚岸、英虞湾に広島と佐賀と揃っており、生や素焼きにフライと食べ尽くしました。お値段も手頃で助かりました。

1歳の娘を含む家族で利用しました。手入れをされた綺麗な中庭に面した和室に通していただきました。うな重の他に焼き鳥や豆腐などいくつかの一品料理を注文しました。鰻が供されるまで少し時間がかかるので一品料理を注文しておいてよかったです。種類も多いのでちょっと贅沢にお酒を楽しみたいときにもよさそうです。メインのうな重はふっくらと香ばしくとても美味しかったです。注文した松はご飯の中にも鰻が挟まっており、ボリュームもあります。子ども用に小さなうどんやお子様ランチなどもあり助かりました。個人的には川越のいちのやにも引けを取らないように思います。

小江戸川越での昼食！・・・今日はうなぎの気分！ここ川越には鰻屋が多く行列の出来る店も多いが、向かった先はは成田山川越別院と喜多院に隣接する住宅地にあるひっそりとした佇まいの「東屋（あずまや）」 ！！ うなぎ一筋明治初めに創業し、昭和8年に、この場所に移転たという歴史を持ち、現在5代目のご主人が営むという！！ 建物は 100年を越え、縁側を通り個室へ！・・・混雑店のように、ガヤガヤする事無く、ゆったりと個室のプライベート空間で食事を頂けるが嬉しい！！ 個室からは庭園を眺める癒しの空間！ さて、料理のメニューはもちろん鰻がメイン！！・・・うな重を頂こうと決めていたので迷いは無い！そしてメニューはうな重・上うな重・特うな重の種類で鰻の大きさで価格が異なる！ 料理をオーダーし、時が止まったような歴史を感じる部屋で気兼ね無くゆったりとくつろぐ・・・ うな重には香の物ときも吸が付く！僕と娘は特うな重、妻は上を選択・・・特の香の物は5種類であるのに対して、上は4種類と多少の差別化がされている！何とも上品なきも吸！そしてバラエティー豊かな箸休めの香の物が良い！ ゆったり 待つ事あっという間に30分が過ぎて、「特うな重」が登場！・・・特は重に3列のうなぎ！！！ 上は一回り小さな重に2列！！特、上、共にウマさは変わらず、量の違いという印象！どちらもしっとりふっくらした身とパリッと炭火でじっくり焼かれた皮で職人技が光りウマウマ！深みのある魂のタレは甘くなくて僕の好みで、米がまたウマい！！・・・米に染込んだうなぎの脂とタレはべったりすること無く上品に米に絡む！！ ウマさ＋くつろぎの空間で身も心も満足です！！

Bowled over by the exuberant welcome, we walked into this cosy restaurant after scanning a few places. The service and food did not disappoint! The restaurant's interior of mostly wood (walls, floors, furniture, etc) resembled a sort of old cabin in the woods. The food was very fresh (as if just fished out of water) and the service friendly, quick and efficient. The only thing I disliked was that smoking is still allowed.
