After a day touristing in Fremantle, starting with a long Brunch, then a movie, then drinks on the Rooftop Bar we headed home at nearly 7pm feeling like a meal but not wanting to do the whole restaurant thing. We searched Trip Advisor for advice and, as always, came up with the perfect solution on the way home, Piscari, for Fish and Chips. This is not the usual suburban Fish n Chip shop! The premises, in a small shopping strip away from the maddening crowd of Fremantle, is large, light and airy with comfortable bench seats enough for 15 waiting people. There is no overpowering smell of oil and the place is sparkling clean. Behind the counter a smartly uniformed family of Mum, Dad and 3 teenage sons all working seamlessly and harmoniously to provide the freshest of food in the shortest of time. We chose a Seafood Basket: 2 fish, 2 prawns, 2 sea scallops, 4 squid and chips, plus we added in 2 potato scallops (after reading TA reviews of how good the handcut potato cakes were). The batter on the NZ Hoki fish was golden, light and crispy, the chips were golden and plentiful. The prawns were big, juicy and tender - not the precooked flat and dry variety served by many other shops. The squid and sea scallops were also freshly cooked and tender. Tw of us struggled to finish this lot.We enjoyed this takeaway so much we came back the next Sunday and ordered the same which we took down to a quiet spot near Fremantle beach and feasted well.Unfortunately our 4 weeks in Perth came to an end last week. If we weren't tourists from 'the east' we would definitely be making this our 'go to' for takeaway.

Revisiting this dining room after six years and widowhood. Memories are powerful, food is acceptable but expensive. Atmosphere is calm, but the dining room is vacant at an early hour. Wait staff are helpful, attentive. Gluten free options are limited, but agreeable. Local wine list is very restricted. Dessert is predictable pavlova, and so delicious!

It is several years since we visited and chose the eat here as we wanted a fuss free meal where we could chose what we wanted easily, after a very busy day. The buffet and selections did not disappoint. I enjoy fresh prawns, however, on that day they were just Ok, and perhaps nearing their use by date? Everything else was as good as you will ever get on a buffet. There is good spacing between tables and staff were helpful and prompt at clearing used plates from our table to give us more space. I would be happy to visit again.

We have been here several times and this time was a big letdown. We both wanted a prawn roll but they donât have them anymore. I had a supposedly seafood chowder but all I got was 3 small mussels and a little bit of fish and veggies. My wife had said rings and chips, well the ring were very skinny and tasteless. A big let down as we use to like going there.

We went here as a family to chill out as the sun set over the Indian Ocean. Not only was the view spectacular but the meals at Bathers were outstanding. 3 meals, Seafood Marina, Scotch Fillet and Local Fish & Chips. The service outstanding. My son dropped a fork, picked back up and put it on the table. By the time that had happened a waiter was there replacing the fork. This is service which is usually not seen and we tipped the waiter accordingly. The photos were taken from our table in the restaurant.

Very casual, live music nights, food is average but the menu has a range of seafood, fish & chips always a safe bet. The "mice" are great as an appetiser (very, very hot spicy!). The Clancy's house white is excellent value. Outdoor eating area at back and the kids can run around in the adjoining park. Smoking corner under front verandah. We attended this establishment following many recommendations and we were not disappointed.Located in a older building with outside or inside seating and a very good atmosphere ensured a good start to the evening. The table service was exceptional with each of the servers obviously enjoying their work which created the right environment for a good dining experience.The menu, which apparently changes constantly depending upon availability of produce, was very enticing and made choices challenging because they all looked so good.We choose dishes and shared them which meant that we had a very good taste of everything and they were all up to a very high standard in terms of freshness, presentation and most importantly, taste. The lamb and fish mains were the pick of the dishes however they were all very good. The wine list although not extensive still offered a good range of local and international products at reasonable costs.Cost wise overall whilst it is at the higher end, there is value is the entire dining experience and this venue is recommended.

For a recent birthday lunch we visited CharChar on the waterfront in Fremantle. Set between two famous casual dining fish restaurants it was perfect, just a bit more refined without being too expensive. The friendly staff were efficient, friendly & their service was good.The food was enjoyed by all, the standout dish was the seafood platter to share. The crab & prawn spaghetti was delicious. Choices for all dietary requirements.Char Char has recently had a revamp & has a very comfortable lounge/bar area to relax in & enjoy the passing crowd.Parking in front for guests is an added bonus.
