As a lover of poke whenever available, I would consider this place to be fairly expensive compared to other comparable places that sell poke. Not to suggest that Costco’s poke is a fair comparison, which is decent poke in itself for cheap, this place is more boutique like so that may be their rationale. Okay poke at this place but nothing overly memorable, especially for he price.

Sometimes in restaurants of all categories, the food offerings are all a little bit similar. I saw something with black rice polenta, shrimp, elk sausage, and who could resist that? Now, most black-coloured food is not appealing to the eye, and this is slightly the case here. But man was it delicious! The shrimp was perfectly cooked, the elk sausage bits had nice, gentle elk-y flavour. The star WAS the black rice, and the super-star were the black rice "chips," little fried wafers of the black rice. I'd eat here again any day!

A local friend recommended this place and we were not disappointed. Located in a strip mall, the interior was nice with appropriate Japanese artwork. We started with seaweed salad that was tasty and similar to others we have had. The veggie tempura was hot and crispy and not at all greasy. Portion a little small, I thought, but great. We had a Crunchy roll, a Spider roll, and a Spicy Salmon roll. All were very good. The spicy salmon was very spicy, but the name says it all. A pot of green tea held ample for two. The place was very busy and had additional traffic for takeout - all on a Monday night. Closed Tuesday.

My wife and I were initially challenged by the limited menu available to view online, but friends continued to tell us we needed to try Hundred North, and we finally did. It was amazing! If you appreciate local farm to table, and very creative dishes that are a feast for the senses, you will be in the right place. Now that BowEdison Fine Dining in Skagit has unfortunately closed, Hundred North will be alone at the top of our restaurant list in the two county area. Know that the menu changes a bit every week based on what is available and fresh. Which will keep this interesting. Go to Hundred North!!

Fish and Chips here were delicious. We got the sampler with all 3 that included battered Salmon, Cod and Halibut. It was amazing! This is an outside seating restaurant with the kitchen being in the double decker bus. There is not much seating around the area.It was very busy when we went, but some people left and gave us their table.Looks like they had a lot of great flavors of soft serve Ice cream too, but I was too full from the Fish and Chips to be able to try any.

We stayed overnight at the Bellwether (reviewed separately) to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had heard from foodie friends that a new chef with proven credentials was in charge, and we’re glad we gave it a try.Our appetizers included a beautiful ahi and avocado tataki, and wheatberry and cheese croquettes. Both were excellent. One of us tried the fried chicken recommended by our friend, and we confirmed it’s a very special dish. The seafood risotto was also excellent. We had some questions about the choice of wines, and our server directed the friendly manager our way, from whom we got a very good idea of what we wanted. It was a superb evening in a comfortable space. We were still full the next morning but decided we would try breakfast after reading favorable reviews on TA. Breakfast is great, and we echo a previous recommendation for the corned beef hash. It’s hash with a deconstructed twist, generous slabs of tasty corned beef sitting on seasoned potatoes and topped with eggs and Hollandaise sauce. We should have split that one – a huge portion. There is a lot of restaurant competition in Squalicum Harbor, and the Lighthouse Grill is a worthy player. We’ll return.Hello, Thank you so much for your glowing review, I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the Hotel and your dining experiences at the Grill. We have been getting so many complements on our Corned Beef dish at breakfast. Kind Regards, Cory D.R.Management Hotel Bellwether 360.392.3200

Rock and Rye Oyster House

Reviewed By fitcalm

We've been in the area for almost a year now and our search for restaurants that are worth the trip and money is ongoing. We've had the best luck in Fairhaven and our trip to Rock and Rye didn't disappoint. The Compass Point oysters were fresh and sweet. The brussel sprouts were just the right texture and flavor. The presentation of our main course was attractive and the service was good. My halibut wasn't the freshest, but not bad. The steak was tender but needed the sauce to provide flavor. I could easily hear my conversation, which is a plus in my book. We'll go again.

Tucked away in the Chrysalis Inn & Spa, this restaurant is a bit unassuming, but hides some terrific food and drink. I was there with family, and our server took care of us very well. We had Martinis and Manhattans, and nobody complained. We started with delicious crab cakes and mussels that were perfectly cooked, and broth so tasty, I could have had a barrel of it. The mains were just as great. I love the seafood in Bellingham and had their head-on grilled shrimp - the char really made a difference. Others had cob salad and steak. Everybody had big smiles. The prices are high, but so is the food quality and service is excellent.

Anthony's at Squalicum Harbor

Absolutely loved the food, the service, the ambiance and wish like crazy that we didn't live so far away!Thankfully the other restaurant we were going to dine at was closed for renovations. We were beyond delighted to make the decision to keep driving and go to Anthony's. My, my, my! Where to begin. From the minute we walked in until the moment we left it was the most wonderful culinary experience. How I wish my metabolism could have handled one of the 4 course sunset dinners. But, alas. I opted for the chop chop seafood salad and my husband ordered the tenderloin filet. My salad was perfect with the seafood being so fresh and the other items also the best quality. My husband loved his steak as much as any steak he's every eaten. I had a bite and it was literally melt in your mouth good. We enjoyed our dinner so much. Happily we had room for dessert. So we decided to try the berry cobbler. It came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Heavenly! This may be a seasonal item because I don't see it on their menu online. We lucked out if that is the case. This is definitely a top class restaurant. They pay attention to every detail. Lovely white linen tablecloths, very comfortable seating. Enough light that you can actually read the menu, but not too much that it inhibits the beautiful natural lighting coming in from the outside. There is not a place to sit that you don't get a wonderful view of the bay. The waiters are impeccable. I hope we can come back again one day!!Hi there! We are so glad that you joined us even though it was not in your original plan. It sounds like you had an outstanding evening and I will be sure to share all of your great comments with our team members!
