Always something delicious to eat on the menu. The shrimp po' boy sandwich is my go to (it'd be even better with pickles!). Our server was very nice and cheerful, did a great job managing a busy Friday night. The reason I only gave 4 stars was the Bar isn't the best. Weak mixed drinks, not much of a wine selection. Otherwise, a great place to go with people from out of town.

We stayed overnight at the Bellwether (reviewed separately) to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had heard from foodie friends that a new chef with proven credentials was in charge, and we’re glad we gave it a try.Our appetizers included a beautiful ahi and avocado tataki, and wheatberry and cheese croquettes. Both were excellent. One of us tried the fried chicken recommended by our friend, and we confirmed it’s a very special dish. The seafood risotto was also excellent. We had some questions about the choice of wines, and our server directed the friendly manager our way, from whom we got a very good idea of what we wanted. It was a superb evening in a comfortable space. We were still full the next morning but decided we would try breakfast after reading favorable reviews on TA. Breakfast is great, and we echo a previous recommendation for the corned beef hash. It’s hash with a deconstructed twist, generous slabs of tasty corned beef sitting on seasoned potatoes and topped with eggs and Hollandaise sauce. We should have split that one – a huge portion. There is a lot of restaurant competition in Squalicum Harbor, and the Lighthouse Grill is a worthy player. We’ll return.Hello, Thank you so much for your glowing review, I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the Hotel and your dining experiences at the Grill. We have been getting so many complements on our Corned Beef dish at breakfast. Kind Regards, Cory D.R.Management Hotel Bellwether 360.392.3200

We went to the SpringHill Suites by Marriott because I had read that Matthew was an excellent bartender. My friend likes Manhattans but doesn't like the ones he is getting in Bellingham. He is new in town, three months. Matthew knows how to make one and how to discuss all the ins and outs of making a Manhattan. The hummus dip was good. The banana split with fudge sauce had chocolate syrup, not hot fudge.Good friendly service from Matthew.Marriott prices.

We just came from a family birthday party for my 21 year old grandson. This is a very casual restaurant and they were very accomodationg and put four table together to seat all 11 of us. They also gave us seperate checks with no hassel. They also did not add automatic gratuity because we were a large party. Just about everyone ordered something different. The nachos for a starter were very good and very diffferent from any other nachos I've had. Loved the pickeled red onions. My grandson loved the beer pretzels. I had the clam chowder and it was wonderful - lots of clams. My husband had the Caribbean Clams and said they were delicious. My daughter gave me a bite of her Reuben sandwich and it was one of the best I've ever had. Another in out party ordered a gluten free Bacon and Tomato sandwich. She said the bun was so good it couldn't be gluten free. She asked the waitress and was told that it really was gluten free and comes from a local bakery. Two in our party had the salmon and said it was very good. My son in law had the schnitzel and said it was delicious. Everything came out hot - Yeah! Our waitress was very attentive. I can only say good things about this place and look froward to going back even though it's over an hour from home.

Great place when you’re in the mood for a burger. Lots of burger combinations to choose from. The fries and onion rings were excellent. Service was very friendly and laid-back. Some interesting crafted cocktails to choose from. I had an interesting take on a vodka gimlet that I enjoyed. Nice theme diner atmosphere. We would come back here again anytime. We got the fried avocado appetizer and I can also recommend that.

Rock and Rye Oyster House

We've been in the area for almost a year now and our search for restaurants that are worth the trip and money is ongoing. We've had the best luck in Fairhaven and our trip to Rock and Rye didn't disappoint. The Compass Point oysters were fresh and sweet. The brussel sprouts were just the right texture and flavor. The presentation of our main course was attractive and the service was good. My halibut wasn't the freshest, but not bad. The steak was tender but needed the sauce to provide flavor. I could easily hear my conversation, which is a plus in my book. We'll go again.

Expect stand by American NW dishes done very well. We had their soups and a sandwich. The clam chowder was buttery and thick with clams and potatoes. Maybe the best I have had in quite a while. The sandwich was generous and an imaginative curried chicken. Nice in combination, or alone. Others had sandwiches as well. All reported liking what they had. The room was wood paneled and pleasant. It got a little noisy with animated conversations at some tables, but quieted down appreciably over time. Nice place. I'm recommending it to friends who visit Bellingham.

When available we often choose to sit at the bar for food service - place was packed with a big wait - no wait at the bar. Traveling through town on vacation and choose Asian Brewing because of Trip Advisor recommendations - good choice. Bison burger was “ best burger I ever had” from husband - I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup and I have to say it was “ one of the best grilled cheese “ I ever had - and the tomato soup was spicy and good! Service at the bar was excellent - everyone working in the restaurant were working as a team - you could tell they all liked what they were doing and doing it well. Highly recommend Asian - choose here over Boundary Bay Brewing!
