We had a noon reservation at the Clipper Lounge which is the dining room at Portsmouth Country Club, a semi-private gold course that was designed by the renowned golf course architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and built along the shoreline of Great Bay. On arrival, we were greeted and seated quickly. We had a series of tables along the large picture windows overlooking the course. Beverage orders were taken promptly.Friends #1 and #2, and I all ordered the Lobster Roll Special with coleslaw and French fries at $15.95. Friend #2 also ordered a bowl of French Onion Soup at $5.95. Friend #3 ordered the Fish & Chips at with coleslaw and French fries at $13.95. Friend #4 ordered the Grilled Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich Special at 8.95. He also had a cup of New England Clam Chowder at 4.25. Friends #5 and #6 ordered the Pork Stir Fry Special at $9.95. Friend #6 also got a cup of Beef Vegetable with Quinoa Soup at $3.25 which was the Soup du Jour. It was about a 20-minute wait for our food to start arriving. Everything was served at its appropriate temperature. Portions were ample. The bowl of onion soup was larger than expected. It was a light meal in itself. It was loaded with the melted cheese. Friend #2 said it was very good. Friend #4 liked his clam chowder. The broth was a medium texture. It had good amounts of clams and potato. Friend #6 loved her beef soup. It was loaded with ingredients. It was very flavorful. The lobster rolls were good. Each had a good amount of lobster meat. The rolls were buttered and nicely toasted. The fries were lightly seasoned and very tasty. They werenât greasy. The coleslaw was lightly dressed. It had just the right amount of crunch. The Fish & Chips dish was made with several large chunks of haddock. It was fried to a light golden color. The plate was heaping with the fish and French fries. Friend #3 savored every bite. Friend #4âs Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich was full of chicken, ham, and cheese. It was grilled to perfection. He ate every morsel. And, when done, he ordered the dayâs special cheesecake which was Key Lime. Being a resident of Key West, he was a connoisseur of Key Lime anything. He rated it a solid 7. Friends #5 and #6 loved the Pork Stir Fry. The portions were enough for two meals. Friend #6 said it was very flavorsome. Service from Tina was very good. All seven of us enjoyed our meals. We rated the food a solid 4.50The décor and scenic views of the bayside golf course were excellent. We rated those a 4.75. Also counting additional factors of pricing, value, etc., our overall rating is a 4.75. Some of us had eaten here before. This was my third visit. I will continue to patronize Portsmouth Country Clubâs Clipper Lounge for the food, service, and atmosphere. And, I can enthusiastically recommend eating here to others.DINING TIP: Seriously consider any of the Specials of the Day. My friends and I haven't been disappointed with any of them to date. We had booked into the Quality Inn and wanted a place for dinner. This restaurant is within walking distance. The hotel receptionist highly recommended this place and she did not steer us wrong. One section, the Bratskeller, is a bar style restaurant and more laid back while the Dinnerhorn is a little more up scale. We ate crab cakes at the Dinnerhorn and they were the best I ever tasted. The whole meal was fabulous and so was the service.

Hayseed, the restaurant at Smuttynose Brewing Company, is located across the parking lot from the main brewery building in Towle Farm's original Victorian-era farmhouse. The restaurant features beer-friendly, farmstyle cuisine from Executive Chef Desmond
This place has something for everyone. Wide range of craft beers and the food choices are delicious. Our party enjoyed the Fried Brussel Sprouts, Buffalo style w/Blue cheese, Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, and Garlic Parmesan Wings which we're all prepared perfectly and tasty. Our bartender, David B. was very friendly and on his game. Look forward to our next visit.Thank you so much for taking the time to spread the word about our restaurant! We appreciate the kind words, and we're so thrilled that you enjoyed your experience and your meal. We hope to see you again soon!

The Barley House Seacoast is the 2nd location of the popular Concord, NH restaurant focusing on simple but creative tavern cuisine, fresh craft beer, and premium whiskey. Similar to the old pubs and taverns of Europe, The Barley House is a gathering place
Don't find much these days to write home about, but Barley's was very good and a pleasant surprise. Nice Decor, lots of specials, great service and the food was excellent and creative. Their hamburger grilled in peppercorn and served with whiskey gravy, blue cheese, micro onion rings, lettuce and tomato was worth the price. Came with great fries. The haddock Chowder was excellent but different. Very thick and creamy, lots of fish, lots of bacon and potatoes. Ate 1/2 a bowl, took the rest home to thin out as left overs. Waitress even checked in with us a few time to see if we needed anything.

A nice mix of pub grub with ample vegetarian options. Pick a night and expose yourself to some great music, local beer and a cool local vibe. There's outside eating with good weather. It has a rich history and is a must see for out of towners.

This was our first time trying this restaurant. We found it on Restaurant.com and it was in our town. The dining room was empty so we opted for the "lounge". It was very loud and the waitress, while trying to be attentive, missed the boat. My husband ordered a wedge salad and a "rare" burger (the waitress assured him they would cook it anyway he liked). I ordered the glazed salmon with rice and veggies. I asked what the vegetable was and the waitress replied, "maybe broccoli or maybe carrots or green beans, I can't remember if I served any today". The wedge salad and bread were good but that is where "good" ended. The burger was well done and the fries were cold. My salmon was very "fishy smelling and tasting", overcooked and the rice and veggies were cold. I left my whole meal (minus a few bites of rice and veggies) and the burger would have been left also but he was starving. He did leave a good portion of (this never happens with my husband). We were hoping we found a local place but we will never go back.

During the winter months, do not plan to stop in with a large group or family of 5 without a LONG wait. If you are a family, try one of the other places within a 1/2 mile with less wait and MORE parking. Again, the Moose has very limited parking and handicap access is very poor. They have been using the parking lot next door but then you need to walk across the snow covered ground or icy ground. This place is more of drop in for a beer by yourself or only a couple. Once summer arrives letâs hope that this helps out with the long wait and the poor parking. The food has been on average good and the Thursday half price pizza is a good deal.

Located adjacent to the Exeter River at the site of the former Exeter Great Dam in an historic building, this restaurant pub offers wonderful views of the river below. I enjoyed a specialty apple cider concoction along with my lobster roll over a late lunch. Friendly service and updated, attractive interior, this is an inviting spot for drinks or dining. Enjoy!

I had the mac and cheese, it was good but my date had the pulled pork and it wasn't that good.I do not like country music and that is all they play so that is annoying. Probably wouldn't try it again.
