We were looking for someplace new to try and happened upon this place. We went at around 7:30 on a summer Saturday night and we're a little nervous at first because of how uncrowded the place was at what we thought should be a pretty busy time. (Turns out that they tend to get a later crowd and the place started to fill up during our stay) - this is a combination neighborhood sports bar / Italian restaurant a whole bunch of TVs tuned to a variety of sports shows. The service is prompt and pleasant. There's a full bar and a great beer selection. Bar prices are very pocket friendly. It is the food, tho, where this place really shines. We had the wedding soup ( meh) - we also had a salad shared at the table ( very nice) -. I've always thought that the true test of any pizza place is their ability to craft a good unadorned plain cheese pizza and theirs is outstanding, perhaps the best since I moved to DE - tasty and flavorful cheese and sauce with a perfectly crunchy and chewy medium thin crust - their Stromboli is even a bigger hit. We got the Italian, a cheesy, meaty, mushroomy and lightly garlicky blend of more than ample fillings surrounded by a perfectly cooked crust - perhaps the best I've ever had. The portions, btw, are huge and just like with the bar, their food prices are a great value especially given the quality. - Can't recommend more highly - we'll be back - see you there

It is 90 degrees and there was no AC on or of it was on-it was still above 85 degrees. We walked in at 7:30, someone was vacuuming the steps and it looked like there was only a cook behind the counter on the phone taking an order. After waiting for him to finish, it was so hot, and we noticed it wasn't clean either. It seems they're changing their name to Giani's next month-No surprise. I think Cafe Verdi across the street is air conditioned and cleaner.

Traveling to visit Winterthur near Wilmington DE. Stopped for a quick lunch and discovered a fantastic restaurant stuck in the back of a strip mall. Many varieties of pizza are ready if you want a quick slice, but after seeing the meals being prepared we opted for a full meal. Calamari was incredibly tasty. The sausage, onion,and roasted peppers was absolutely amazing. The penne arabbiata was phenomenal. Huge portions. Friendly staff. I will drive the 3 hours again just to eat here. By the way. Beyond a doubt the very best gravy, including my own mother's (forgive me ma!)

I was wanting good pizza and the reviews for this place sounded good. It didn't let me down.The menu is full of amazing different pizza combinations. I couldn't choose. Next time I want to try the barbecue chicken one (I'm veggie, but they can do it without chicken). I got the Domenci, I think it was. Very good. Not real strong flavored, but subtly good. The Mista salad was also very good and not anemic-looking. Lots of real greens in it. Service was quick and helpful.The atmosphere feels like a low-key pizza place. Almost a self-service feel. The place is located on Market Street which is a nice place to walk afterwards and not far from the Opera House.

4 of us met here for dinner. Very good food, but I must admit that over the years the service has slipped considerably. Sooo, for us the view was worth the climb because we wanted to talk but a first timer might be turned off.

We had subs here recently. Small and large are the choices. We both ordered small and were shocked by how large "small" is in the deli. Neither of us could even eat most of half of what we ordered. Mine was cheese steak, hers was Italian meatball. More does not always mean better, and certainly not this time. Maybe the pizza is better here. We will never know.

My wife and I were in old town New Castle for the Victorian Xmas weekend and the few restaurants in the center of town were all full during the Saturday events. Therefore, we walked a few blocks to this location just outside of the old town area.We were glad we did. The service was good, the food was great and fairly priced and the booth that we sat in was comfortable and clean. A very nice local restaurant that we'll visit again. Plus, we could watch the Army - Navy football game on TV.

I have been eating at The Doghouse since the 1950âs. Although the menu is not large, there are a variety of toppings for the delicious hot dogs, cheesesteaks, and fries. There also is a section where pizza and subs are offered. Take out is available. Be patient as there is usually a wait for one of the stools, but it is worth it!

Three bad meals over the past two months - at the most recent lunch for three, we were seated at a table completely devoid of appetizer plates, a salt and pepper shaker and the flower/light combo that was on the other tables. The burger I have ordered for years with no issues was overcooked again and I realized halfway through the plate that I never got the potatoes that are supposed to be served with the meal. My daughter told me for the first time that the last time she dined at a separate table with a group of teenagers (high school age and driving), two of the personal cheese pizzas arrived with cheese and bread only (no sauce) and when they pointed out the error, the server returned with two small ramekins of warm sauce - they did not offer to re-make the pizzas (!) I would tolerate a few mediocre meals if this was a budget dining destination but it most certainly is not, and the wines in particular are absurdly overpriced for the quality. We are taking a break for now in the hopes that better times (and better service) return. Agree with others that the servers of late have been "too cool" to care if you have a plate, utensils or even the meal you actually ordered.

This is a great place for lunch or dinner in the city of Wilmingtonâs Little Italy area. This is not an upscale dining area but a family style restaurant that reminds you of being in someoneâs dining room. The sauce is delicious. Try the wedding soup and cheese raviolis!
