Moving to the Midwest 12 years ago from the Southwest, we have found it hard to find authentic (spiced well) Mexican food. We found it in Pittsburg. The service was fantastic, and the food was served quickly and was delicious! It was refreshing to taste authentic Mexican flavors again!

Phil here again, took the Misses out for dinner at El Charro. I wasn't sure if picked a good spot at first because there were only a few cars in the lot when we got there, but it quickly filled up for dinner. They have your standard Mexican menu, but it's what you expect. We had queso for an appetizer, it was very good. The chips and salsa were good, probably not spicy or flavorful enough for some but it still had a good flavor. The Misses had enchiladas and I had the steak fajitas, both were tasty. Service was good and the portions were big as well. Phil recommends you give it a shot and see if you like it as well.

Del Rio is always good. The place is decorated to the max inside to look like a mexican village or square. Very quaint. But lets get to the food. On this night (Monday) Margaritas were $3. Fair sized and quite a bargain, not to mention, GOOD. We split a combination plate with cheese enchilada, spinach enchilidas, and a beef enchilida. All were smothered in a delicious cheesy sauce. The presentation was wonderful. It included a delicious mexican rice and a portion of black beans...both of which were great side dishes and complimented the enchilidas just right. Also a garnish of sour cream and their sweet mushy corn bread which is one of my favorite things at Del Rio. The salsa and chips are just the best ever. Chips are thin and are not salted so they have great corn flavor and are not greasy in any way. The salsa is super good, the regular one has a slight sweet flavor to it which is just great. There is also a hotter version which is good in it's own right as well. Server was excellent and helped us with the menu and our drinks. Superior Mexican Food, well located in the small mall in Pittsburg.

Wow!! Amazing food! My favorites include pork tacos, shrimp tacos, Chicken and rice, chorizo cheese dip, and the salsa is awesome. They have excellent lunch specials including a very tasty philly cheese steak. Dollar tacos all day on Tuesdays. Best Mexican food in Pittsburg easily. The owner "Chewy" is a very nice man and always interacts with my son. He knows his name and even asks about him when he sees us there without him. Love this place
