What might look to some to be a nondescript, little restaurant turned out to be quite the surprise in terms of good food and a congenial environment. Padreâs Place is small, but I got the distinct impression that most of the patrons knew each other, so feel free to walk in, say hello to everyone and possibly make a friend.The restaurant, painted in sunny colors, has a small bar and only a few tables. If you want to watch your food being made thereâs a bar table with a view to the kitchen (a sliding door affords more privacy if you prefer that). My brother and I chose the âkitchen viewâ so we could discuss menu options directly with the cook (bet youâve never done that before!). We essentially custom-ordered both our enchiladas.To me, any restaurant that wonât flinch at off-the-menu orders gets major bonus points. That, combined with the freshly prepared food and friendly wait staff made for a totally fulfilling dinner.

My daughter and I split a spicy shrimp dish that they had as a special that day. Man o man! It was a happy dance in our mouths. I have family in the area, so thatâs a perfect excuse to come back for a visit!

We haven't been here in a number of years and had lunch here. The Nachos ($6.58) is a large portion & very good. The enchiladas ($13.16) for two, & were also good, but I made a mistake asking for the "Rojas" which is chipotle seasoned, I prefer other flavors or spicy. The Negra Modelo was only $2.82...a good price. Definitely, good food.
