I've been looking for a place to buy tamales, and someone told me to try Carmelita's. Nice restaurant, clean, and friendly service. I'm still looking for tamales, though, unfortunately. These were pork, but there wasn't much. It was mostly breading. I'm sure their food is great, but I'm specifically on the hunt for tamales I can eat at home.

Visiting family and they said this place was awesome. Well awesome it's not, it's just bland and ok. The green sauce was good though. Fajitas were bland and not much flavor. Never ate a fried avocado that way and it wasn't good. Won't be going back there and the family said they won't either. Great wait staff

Staff is very friendly and attentive. At lunch you get a complimentary bean and cheese nacho to try while looking at menu. Was pretty good. If ordering queso, order the white- as it has more flavor in my opinion and has more peppers. Jalapeño margaritas were good as well as the prickly pear margaritas.We had lunch combos and the enchiladas with the chili rellano inside of it with chicken fajita. Had a good taste, however the chicken fajita in it was way over cooked.Menu is very large with huge selection ...

Visiting the area and came here looking for authentic Tex Mex food. The house salsa and guacamole were pretty bland, but when we specifically asked for hot sauce, our server brought us a green & red that were very good! Our main dishes (Texan enchiladas and Al Pastor tacos) were really good, although the beefsteak on the enchiladas was a bit dry and not as flavorful as I expected. The beans (refried and castor) were fresh and homemade. Our server was friendly and efficient as well. Overall we left full and content.

We ordered take-out. Nothing special about the food and a bit overpriced for the beef/chicken/shrimp fajitas but the service is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. We don't eat the carbs (rice/beans/chips) and they don't have just the meat on the menu so we probably will not visit again.

Growing up in the area, this was THE go to restaurant in town. Now that I'm an adult and have moved away this restaurant is the food highlight of my trips through the town. The staff is amazingly friendly, the drinks are amazing and the food is stellar. Highly recommend this place to everyone that is in the area.

6 stopped. First Tim visit. Very clean and nice Very large menus options that include traditional Mexican and American dishes. I hab Pollo del mar chicken breast with shrimp and cheese sauce. Very well done. She had 1/2 order of chicken natchos which was from appetizer menu which was plenty for her. Table had shrimp el cabon which really look great. Also grilled whole jalapenos which were outstanding. Wait staff good and prices medium.

From the service to the skinny peach margarita to the food, it was outstanding!!Started with the guacamole that was freshly made with huge chunks of avocado. We had the Hawaiian fish tacos that were really good and the mini tacos.The mini tacos were so yummy that I canât wait to go back! Had the carnitas, pollo Tinga, and Pastor. Spicy Green sauce was perfect on them! Since I love mole I had a single chicken mole enchilada, and it did not disappoint. He mole sauce was rich with flavor!!Definitely a place not to miss!!
