Avra Estiatorio is a restaurant that transports you to the Greece of your imagination. The sky is vivid blue and the air is drenched with sunlight and the aroma of freshly caught fish grilling over an open fire.
Our usual Greek go to Restaurant was not open but recommended this one. It was an excellent meal. I had the halibut which was perfectly grilled. My wifeâs salmon was also very nice. They did not have moussaka on the menu which is odd for a Greek place. The baclava was delicious.

With the elegance and sophistication unique to Midtown Manhattan, Pera Mediterranean Brasserie is a fine dining restaurant near Grand Central that refines timeless foods created on the warm shores of the Mediterranean. In our quest to become one of NYC's
We caught NYC Restaurant Week; Pera had a fabulous meal and wine setup. We had three courses of wine; a chardonnay (from where, I don't know), a red from Turkey (very nice; like a cab) and a spanish dessert wine (like a sherry). Lots of food, wonderful taste, good service! Ate there our last night in NYC; if we had gone earlier we would probably have visited them twice!Hi Kirkin, thank you so much for this fabulous review! We are so thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your last evening in New York with us. We hope to see you again soon & can't wait till you return to the big apple!

We were our for a quick easy dinner and found Norma. Professional servers, nice selection of appetizers including the nicest octopus capriccio I have had anywhere in years. Good wine selection (no hard liquor). Pizzas were exceptional. Coffee and dessert great too. Not cheap, but far from expensive. A little loud, but clean and upscale. I be back.

The pastor was very good but thereâs only about 10 or 12 chairs to sit in so the atmosphere is a little lacking but the pasta is all homemade and very tasty.

i VISITED THIS RESTAURANT WITH A FRIEND FOR LUNCH THIS PAST WEEKEND. The food was magnificent: prepared to my specifications and delicious. I ordered sirloin kabobs with a side order of sour cherry flavored rice. The kabobs were prepared with onions and tomatoes--cooked to perfection. The Persian flatbread was wonderful, served with two dipping sauces. The decor is unassuming, but the food is delicious! Great place for an informal lunch or dinner. Our waitress, Oelania, was very attentive.

With the International Ambassador of Greek Gastronomy, Chef Maria Loi, at the helm, Loi Estiatorio is a Mediterranean oasis in the heart of Manhattan, celebrating the flavors and hospitality of Greece, like the Greeks. Loi Estiatorio is an upscale take on
Small intimate restaurant near Central Park. The owner, Maria Loi is Chief and a delightful personality. Her manager, Alex is charming and attentive. You feel like you just entered your best friend's home. But, even more impressive is the fresh and uniquely prepared dishes. We were saddened we couldn't try more. Loved the fresh lentil soup, grape leaves and fish of the day. The desserts were light - you won't believe their baklava - no butter (made with olive oil) and may be the best I've ever had. All meals are freshly prepared - this place is amazing!

The staff is exceptional and every single one of them made us feel extremely welcomed. We arrived at 5:30 pm and ordered from the weekend theater prix fixe menu, a 3-course meal that is a real steal at $49.00. I started with a haloumi, fig and fennel salad, which was light and delicious. My main course was the levraki (bronzino), which was cooked and seasoned to perfection! I ended my meal with a custard dessert. We were nicely surprised with a complimentary mini mousse cake in honor of our anniversary. My husband raved about his lamb chops. We can't wait to return again!!

A friend of mine recommended SoleLuna about a month ago. I rarely frequent restaurants in Sunnyside, so this would be something different. I must say, I am glad a friend recommended this restaurant. The food and service were spectacular. The wine list is surprisingly very good with a fine variety of reds, whites and rose and sangria. The food was exceptional. It felt like we were eating homemade family made Italian Food. The staff was very friendly and attended to all our needs. Marcello, our server, went out of his way to please our party. Highly recommend. Give it a try

Trip Advisor reviews brought us here. We have eaten in Astoria over the years. Bahari is by far the most authentic of all the greek places we have tried. Dress was street casual. There was no wait Saturday 5:30 pm. The waitress brought bread and water promptly. I ordered a house roseâ that was light and crisp. We shared a Greek salad, and a plate of the traditional dips. They were delicious. My husband had the grilled squid with potatoes. He said it was done perfectly. Another waiter explained to him that the squid is thicker than the one they make fried calamari with. I tried the stuffed cabbage in a lemon sauce,a first for me, it was clean tasting definitely made with good quality meat and a side of string beans. Iâm not greek but I have to think this is an authentic dish. Dessert was on the house. Nice friendly atmosphere. The only negative is the sound is very loud and itâs hard to hear each other. We will return. The prices are reasonable for such well prepared food.
