Large group of us visited and all were very pleased with quality of the food. The servings were large and the price very reasonable. The best part was the breadsticks they served with marinara sauce. The service was excellent also with such large crowd (13 people).

Where to go for dinner? Then I remembered that our friends Norm and Linda had mentioned that they’d had a meal recently at a restaurant attached to the Sloan’s gas station and store complex in Madisonville Tennessee. Tennessee River Grill used to be called Henry’s Restaurant. Apparently it had been operated by someone else for the last couple of years. However, in 2017, Julie and Darrin Henry returned to remodel and reopen the restaurant. The main dining area in the Tennessee River Grill is a warm and straightforward room. It was clean and well maintained as well. FYI…there is an outside patio area for those who like to dine in the great outdoors. There is a partial wall at one end of the main dining room creates a space that is probably used for groups. The wood on those walls is covered with a wide assortment of signs, with 2 big TV's dominating both sides of the room. It has a totally different ‘feel’ to it vs the main dining area…My dinner came with the salad bar. There was a decent selection of produce and other goodies available and everything was fresh and chilled. I loaded up…not exactly creating a healthy salad! My doctor wouldn’t have approved…We decided to order an appetizer and we went for the Fried Pickles with Chipotle Sauce. ($5.99) They weren’t exceptional but they were tasty…and we really liked the chipotle sauce. Other appetizers on the menu include Mozzarella Sticks, Fried Mushrooms, Southwest Egg Rolls, Beer Battered Onion Rings, Cheese Fries and Chicken Fajita Quesadillas. While the menu includes Entrees (including BBQ ribs), plus Pastas, Dinner Salads, Pizzas and Subs, my wife opted for the Burger and Sandwich section of the menu, going for one of her favorite sandwiches, a Patty Melt. ($5.39) Her hamburger patty was served on grilled marbled rye bread with Swiss cheese and grilled onions. She was pleased with her choice for dinner… I went a bit off the reservation for my dinner. I don't usually order steak when we eat out. I had the 10 oz. Ribeye Steak with steamed broccoli. ($15.49) It was cooked medium rare as requested and the flavor was very nice. It wasn’t the most tender ribeye I’ve ever had but for the price, it was about what I expected. The broccoli was steamed correctly, coming out not too hard nor too mushy. The added mozzarella cheese was an addition 50 cents...and was probably unnecessary. Madison, who was our server, was very helpful, efficient and sweet. The restaurant and its food have improved with the return of the former owners. Prices are very reasonable as well. We’ll return to Tennessee River Grill for another look at the menu. In particular, I’ll have to give their BBQ ribs a try. This is no longer just a 'food fuel stop' in our opinion.

First we were happy about the special deal on pizzas and we love Pizza Hut usually! But..... When the driver arrived she delivered the pizza and I tipped her well! We opened the boxes 1 by 1 and 3 of our pizzas were drastically undercooked! The crust was floppy and doughy! The cheese barely melted! So we called and they answered the phone only after we switched phones ... And said Hello? In a hateful tone! We explained our situation and they were crass and grumpily agreed to replace the pizza.... But by this time we were well into an hour wait. We asked for a refund and are currently 1 1/2 hours later still waiting. Calling back we got a angry " She's on her way"!
