. There was one big table with about 20 people who all like nice food, good wines and AGA Cookers. Arthur is a wonderful cook and Marjan his wife is the perfect host. The place is authentic and cosy. Private dining or participating in this Table d'hÃ´te are the only ways to eat at this place. Personally we would have appreciated a bigger portion of vegetables and sharing cheese plate per 4 instead of per 6 persons would have been more convenient. A lovely place in a nice town. We hebben gisteravond weer een table dhote avond gehad en dachten daarbij ook aan jullie. Hoe gaat het met jullie. Als jullie prachtige wijngaard zover is dat jullie trotse eigenaren zijn van mooie flessen wijn dan zullen wij deze met volle trots gaan schenken en hopen dat jullie er dan een keer bij zijn om de juiste uitleg en het verhaal erbij te kunnen vertellen. The mini â La place â is located inside a supermarket called â Jumbo â .The place is such a foodhall ( at Herenhof Winkel Centrum ) you can enjoy the proper coffee selections while shopping. Heard of there is an Open Buffet Breakfast for less than 5 euro each day ( Mix & Match ) Freshly squeezed juices , Cookies , Pies , Smoothies , Salads , Breads and Pizzas. On a recent visit to Leiden university, our large group went here for dinner after getting some recommendations. With there being so many of us, we didn't bother with starters. Most of us had pizza. I meant to order the ortolana but ended up ordering the one above as it's name ran over onto the next line. This was the rucola pomodoro & parmigiano. It was very nice anyway and gave my first time trying a pizza with 'non oven-baked' ingredients.One that didn't go down well in our group was the Papps e citti - ham, onions, asparagus, olives. It was dripping with oil. Far too greasy.We didn't get pudding as we blew the budget on cocktails - I recommend the 'Hugo!' Although some of the puddings we saw being taken to other tables did make us regret our decision!I'd recommend this place if you're looking for proper Italian food in Leiden - very authentic!

We visited Woodstone on a busy Friday evening. The restaurant was pleasantly full and happily bustling. The waitstaff had their hands full!We ordered the Tartufo and Carnivore pizzas. The crust was thin and crispy and you would expect from their beautiful wood-fired ovens. We found pizzas to be average as the toppings and sauce had no outspoken flavors to make them special. In this restaurant, you could say a former pizzeria, I had a very good experience with my non Pizza dish. The way my Filet Toscane was prepared was excellent also the starter was very nice.

We've been regulars for over 10 years and this restaurant provides the best value for money in Alphen, easily. A three course meal will cost you â¬28 with good food and generous portion sizes. You do need to make reservations in advance as even on Monday evening this restaurant will be full.
