This restaurant was the only one, outside of the hotels, trading in Calheta owing to the stabilization of the cliff faces directly above the marina, whilst we were staying at the resort in mid-October. It offered a good range of seafood dishes, including the celebrated black scabbard fish, caught in local waters, served with banana, another local delicacy. It also as served a super version of the local bread with garlic, Bolo do Caco, literally balls of cake. Try its devil shrimps, best washed down with its cool beer.Great for sunsets, too.

Situated in an elevated position at the end of the beach, the restaurant has an unbeatable view on the beach and the village (especially from the small terrace). Menu is typical Maderian. Our fish (parrot) and squids were good. Service was efficient but not smily. Prices were reasonable for the fish of the day and slightly above average otherwise. Overall a good choice.

Arrived in Port Moniz following a taxi ride from Sao Vincente. Hotel was pretty empty but after looking at the pictures of food outside at the other establishments wanted somewhere different. Staff very friendly & helpful. Had a lunchtime menu which was tasty & plentiful & excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend.
