Visited for dinner and had a great table right next to the beach which was lovely watching the waves breaking and crabs scuttling along. The menu is extensive - so extensive that it takes an age to look through and you have to wonder how any kitchen can have so many fresh ingredients to serve Chinese, Thai, Sri Lankan, Indian, Italian etc. etc. to any decent standard. Our meals were actually pretty good - lobster curry and sweet & sour pork with rice were both nice enough and reasonably priced. Come for the setting and the choice on the menu and you won't be disappointed.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and were amazed by the extremely good food and even more so by the fantastic service! This place is a must for everyone visiting hikkkaduwa, itâs perfect for both lunch and dinner. Recommended dishes; crispy chicken tacos, barracuda, tomyum soup (excellent!) and even the most simplest of dishes such as club sandwich. They never let us down!

Booked for dinner after many phone calls not being answered. Had the special garlic prawns which were tiny and tasted like they had been cooked in marmite served with a slice of white toast?!? Then ordered Thai chicken curry which my friend said was tasty. My tuna was so tough I sent it back. Told I would have a new one in 2 mins. After 15 mins when friend had finished eating and the table was cleared I went to find out where mine was. It arrived several minutes later stone cold. Sent it back and didnât pay for it. This place should not be no1. Try sunshine instead and see my review Would not recommend jungleDear valued guest, thank you for taking time to review Jungle Beach Ahungalla. We are sorry that you had this experience at our restaurant. As you can see in our menu the Sweet & Spicy Prawns are a starter, so they are not big sized and that they are served with toast. We are having very clear rules that our service should sell tuna steaks only when they are very fresh, so that they don't get tough. This was definitely our mistake and the management has taken action already. This should not happen anymore. Also it is not possible for our kitchen to prepare a new tuna steak in 2 minutes. Also there for we have taken action and excuse the wrong information of our service staff. He should have offered you a sear fish steak as an alternative.So it would be great to see you once again. My husband and I really enjoyed the fresh seafood and friendly staff. super tasty cone medley of lightly battered fish, prawns, calamari and sweet potato wedges with garlic sauce for 700 rupee a person. Not a huge meal but very tasty. But bit of a laugh with the âbaby soft drinksâ - 250ml for 150 rupee, probably most expensive coke Iâve had in Sri Lanka. Very clean and modern Resturant. The food here was excellent. My girlfriend and I had been traveling round the last 4 days and had eaten bang average meals. This place was class, 2 delicious burgers, cost us next to nothing.Doesnât look that great from the outside, but once you walk in the restaurant extends out the back and is lovely. Highly recommended.

We were not disappointed with our choice of restaurant at Hikkaduwa. The fresh seafood platter was excellent and great value. Jumbo prawns, whole fish (mackerel?), calamari and crab served with a tasty home made tomato sauce.We were the only diners as it is the off-season on the West Coast, but still the team managed to serve us up a great dish, washed down with cold Lion beer!

This restaurant is completely out the way but an absolute hidden gem. We had the sri lankan curry and it is by far the best curry I have ever had. Well worth a tuk tuk ride out to experience.

I went with a friend and ordered salad and a plate of fish and chips. I got soup instead of salad and a bottle of beer which I did not order. My friend who is diabetic was given a warm bottle of coca cola. I was charged 1000 rupees 5.60 US for the beer.I live locally and will never return again.Dear Guest,Thank you for taking your time.
