Cafe Bar Arighi at Arighi Bianchi

Reviewed By GregoryB - Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom

My friend and I were visiting Arighi Bianchi to have a look around and decided to have a coffee first. Even at 10.30 a.m. it was quite busy but were allocated a table and had a coffee each and shared a teacake - approx £7.50. We had a look around the store and then returned for lunch. It was a lot busier and as we hadn't reserved a table were were given a bleeper and told that they would bleep us when a table was available. It was estimated that the wait was 25 mins and because we didn't have a preference as to a particular table it took about 15 mins. My friend had soup with lovely bread and I had a Sandwich with a small salad to accompany it, plus cold drinks - came to just under £18. Everything is freshly made and the menu has varied choices. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the service was efficient. Tables are cleared and wiped promptly which is nice as there is nothing worse that waiting and seeing tables piled up with dishes waiting to be taken away. Even Mr. Bianchi himself spoke to quite a few of the diners and when he wandered over to us he asked if everything was ok and had we enjoyed our food - a sweet touch from the owner of this large and prestigious shop and cafe.

**Atmosphere**
Very quiet and pleasant.
The staff were very welcoming and genuinely looked happy to be working there.
**Food**
Superbly presented and plenty of it, which was nice to see as the prices are above average.Everything was piping hot too.
**Vegetarian Options**
Not many. There were three options, but if you don't like peppers or mushrooms, then you are down to a cheese and mashed pie with onions. I'm sure if you asked for them to make you something, they'd oblige.

Found this restaurant on one of the most horrible, snowy, windy nights of the year but what a find. The food was superb and beautifully presented. We had starters, pate and crab cakes, beautiful and then I had duck and my husband had belly pork both of which were excellent. As it was such a cold night I had the crumble for sweet which finished the meal off perfectly. The staff were very friendly and cost of the meal was unbelievably good. Will definitely be going back. Highly recommend.

I use this restaurant regularly. They have an excellent value menu from Tuesday to thursday. You need to book as they are busy.
My wife and I usually go with friends. The 'table d'hote' menu is fantastic value for money, together with amuse bouche, three courses and chocs to finish with fresh coffee of tea ( for the anti coffee brigade) it comes in at circa £30 per head. Only the house wine but that is excellent.
Fresh produce beautifully served, all add up to a really good night out. Go for it.

We went for afternoon tea as a family and really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely visit again.
The service was really good and all the staff were really friendly and accommodating. In particular they were helpful in accommodating all dietary requirements. There was plenty of tea throughout with the availability of alternative milks (e.g. Soya)
Each person had their own plate tiers, with 8 quarter sandwiches on each. There were then four cakes on the second tier, all very fresh and homemade. On the top a fresh scone with fresh cream and homemade (delicious) jam.
Also they were happy to pack any extras away in boxes to take home.
Really enjoyed my afternoon tea and look forward to going back

This is our 3rd visit in the last couple of months! Originally we dropped in by accident, but the other visits have definitely been on purpose. The cafe offers lovely, wholesome food and the cakes ................so hard to choose just one! This last time, there was even a lovely log fire to warm us chilly travellers. We'll be back again soon, that's a promise!

Lovely cafe, such a warm welcome from what I presume was the owner!
Great priced menu, quality and food quantity can not be faulted! It’s obviously very popular because it was full and people kept coming in but couldn’t be seated, but came back a short while after and they were.
I think they need to extend due to their popularity!
I am aware they open in an evening from 6pm, with an evening menu. Im not sure if that’s only Friday and Saturday though or if that has changed. Would love to go and try it in an evening.

Dined here for the second time and again it was a good experience.
My niece had the meatballs and she thought they were delicious. I had the veggie version; mushroom and chickpea, a little bit bland.
I do think that the dishes could have a bit more about them, in our case it was meatballs, creamy sauce, French fries, pickles and veggie balls, pickles, French fries, bit of beetroot.
The service is very friendly and efficient.
The overall ambience is good; laid back and well decorated.

Breakfast was well cooked and tasty, the only thing I have to say is, for the amount you got it was slightly over priced......but, as I said......it was tasty.
