Runcorn is an industrial town and cargo port in Halton, Cheshire, England, and in the southeast of the Liverpool City Region. Its population in 2011 was 61,789. The town is on the southern bank of the River Mersey, where the estuary narrows to form the Runcorn Gap. Directly to the north across the River Mersey is the town of Widnes. Upstream and 8 miles (12.9 km) to the northeast is the town of Warrington, and downstream 16 miles (26 km) to the west is the city of Liverpool.

A great park for a day out! Two Playgrounds -one is for the little tots.Seating within the Playgrounds & grass areas for picnics.There is also an outdoor wet play area with sprinklers within the playground in summer ,but beware is does get very slippery & perhaps the floor could do with being cleaned more often!
The ice cream parlour is alongside the playground,again there is Seating inside & out.
An excellent new cafe has just opened too,further down in the park.
There is a lovely nature walk,& a lake,where children can enjoy feeding squirrels,birds & ducks,before visiting the butterfly house at the opposite end of of the park.
Also bike hire,tennis courts,climbing rock,enclosed skate board area ,cenotaph & bandstand.
There is even an enclosed dog area where dogs can play off lead.
A huge grassed area in the middle of the park offers space for children to run freely & families to picnic.
The park is suitable for those with mobility problems,as it is flat with excellent paths all around.Plenty of benches are dotted around,so it is easy to stop & relax.
Parking is not allowed inside,but plenty on the perimeter roads .
Suitable park for all ages.

Had the pleasure many yes ago of visiting this beautiful priory in all its glory before the awful renovations. It was a gem then, not now. Whoever gave permission for this awful renovation needs to be fired. I thought old buildings were protected, not the priory it seems. On arrival, you firstly have to go through a business park, which I assume was the priory s land which has been sold off. Very built up. On arrival, I was horrified to see what had happened to that beautiful old building. The only thing I can describe, is someone taking Stonehenge and putting a plastic and glass building on top of it. Scandalous!!!! Whoever agreed this renovation, you have ruined that beautiful, old priory and replaced it with a concrete, glass and plastic monstrosity. Shame on you!!

An absolutely fantastic day from the 9.30am start through to the 6pm finish. We managed to fit in x6 different activities, x1 of which they made bespoke to us to accommodate for the ~40 people we had to entertain for the day.
Facilities
We provided our own BBQ during the day but the site on staff couldn't do enough to support us with setting it up and ensuring we had all the bits we needed. There is also tea/coffee available on site throughout the day and the toilets were impeccably clean with hand wash facilities provided. They thought of everything!
Staff
All staff were very skilled in the activity they looked after and made the experience as fun as possible whilst ensuring safety was ensured

Hovercrafting, Buggies, Tomahawks, DTV shredders, Duck herding (bought in for us!)

Just book it and go an enjoy a fun filled day out - some of our group have already rebooked!

Visited yesterday 13 th March with my son and small grandson. Playground attractions good but our experience in the cafe/ tearoom were dreadful and need management attention. Firstly there was nobody to serve us in the cafe. It was deserted save for two customers who were leaving. The time was approximately 2.30. Went looking for staff along with two other potential customers. 10 to 15 minutes later a man in a pinafore emerged from a room outside on the courtyard laughing and joking with colleagues. There was little or no food to choose - one Sandwich cake and some unappetising looking sweaty looking scones in cellophane. By this time we were pretty disappointed and the young man seemed not to know what he was doing. Worse by far was he filth and I use the word deliberately. The flagstone floor had clearly not been mopped. In a very long time and our little who is not quite walking crawled off. On picking him up his hands were literally filthy and the knees of his trousers brown and covered in soil and dust. The table in front of our settee was also dirty and this was a quiet day. We made a hasty retreat having wasted nine pounds.
Worse was to come. I took my grandson into the ladies to change a nappy. It was so dirty that I was horrified: an overflowing bin of soiled nappies, dirty change table and the floor awash with muddy water so that a clean dropped nappy had to be immediately binned. I did not want to use the facility because of health risks but had to as our baby had soiled himself. I spent ages with anti bac wiped both on the baby and on myself. There is no excuse for such disgusting conditions and the establishment should be ashamed.

We managed to get a last minute booking. Car parking spaces available where good and the booking in process straightforward. Sticking to booking in times the children's hour up soon came around. Toilet facilities were good and clean although location meant younger children required supervision. We didn't use the catering facility but it was useful to know it was there.
Looking forward to seeing it after the New Year upfurb! Trampolines in good condition despite!
We were lucky enough to utilise a groupon voucher so fee was very fair

All you want to know about the manufacturing history of this important area of the north west.We went for an hour and stayed all day.Some thing to interest everyone. I view the chemical industry in a new light....essential for every part of modern life.Exhibition about the new bridge manned by amazing volunteers an added extra. Views from the glass top story over the estuary out of this world. Dont forget to ask for a tablet to t ake up deposit required

Visited for the first time last weekend. Positives: Ample parking, toilets, cafe and wheelchair friendly. Negatives: horrendous smell of human waste due to the wastewater treatment plant at the western edge.
Still, on a nice day, if you get beyond the smelly area or walk the other way, this is a nice place for a stroll.
