We went for an evening meal and the both of us left most of it. The curry was disgusting and the food awful. And when we got the bill we were charged â¬10.50 for something we never ordered. When I questioned the waiter he laughed as if they do it all the time.

This is a lovely place with a great atmosphere. The service was great too! I had the salmon which was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The accompanying potatoes were superb. I was a bit shocked to discover on paying that a very small glass of house wine had cost â¬3.50 and a 25cl bottle of water was â¬1.70. Congratulations Lusitania! You win the prize for the most expensive water in Alvor! Ate here yesterday lunchtime. Sat outside and both waiters were very attentive. Ordered sardines, which came with salad and potatoes and roast chicken that came with chips and a small salad. My husband and I shared the sardines and my daughter had the chicken.Very nice, well cooked and good price, we had that, 3 beers, a half bottle of vino Verde apple juice and two coffees for â¬36.

Attended a friends wedding here recently. Canico is built on 3 levels with the ground floor being on beach level, bar & terrace overlooking beach on next level and restaurant on top. Lift available for easy access. Food is amazing and the staff were wonderful. You can just have coffee and drinks during the day if you wish. The setting is what sells this place. Love it!
