First time to this restaurant selling steak on a hot plate and was shocked there was no alcohol available. Fortunately they allowed us to bring our own into the restaurant. Service was OK but nothing starling in this chain restaurant however meals came very irregular with some starters appearing after the mains. The atmosphere is good and clean and the food quality only so so. Would I go back for a steak probably not as there are better steak restaurants in Surabaya. Paul's Restaurant Rating 1 - 51. boncafe has good steak for a reasonable price. the chicken steak are equally good, the imported australian beef are a little bit more expensive as compared to the local beef, as the imported beef quality obviously are better, so i suggest going for the australian beef, you cannot go wrong with this choice. lots of table but it could be a nightmare getting a table on weekends.

After tried several times before, the pre-main course serving getting less choices. Only 4-5 including kimchi, sweet sauce small potatoes, boiled sliced eggs etc. The taste is standard no specialty. The grilled sweet pork & beef also nothing special & taste too much marinated sauces on it. Over proportioned. Ordered glass noodle as well also taste sour no specialty. It cost us total around Rp. 700k/4pax for a simple dinner. The staff service is standard. Must say the quality of its pre-set menu & main course food specially the grilled beef & pork should be maintained & monitored.

I didnt have any favorite food in this restaurant. Some of the selections I prefer to avoid. This time, I decided to try something I never had before. It was my first time to order beef ribs angel hair pasta.Surprisingly, I liked it !Something different, delicious. And came back the following day for this particular menu

Visited on last Thursday with friends, the restaurant was quite busy due to Valentine day. We ordered total 3 portions of butter caramelized crab, grilled chicken set and escargot. The crab was fabulous but the grilled chicken took an ages to cook, escargot came with 2 thin slices of bread only!Drink service was really slow, had to ask several times to get refills.Surprisingly, the dont have sell wines over there.Kind of a must place to visit especially if you are a crab lover.

Boncafe offer both local and imported meat, however, both are cut thin, almost in minute steak thickness. It served on a sizzling platter - i asked for mine to be rare which meant one side was flame cooked and the other just exposed to the sizzle platter. That said, the meat was rare and tender but as its thin you dont get the true meat taste.Service, once ordered, was prompt for the food but....it took a long time for anyone to take the order, and to get a 2nd drink, which is a pity as the bintang is served with a frozen mug. I had finished my meal by the time the 2nd beer finally came and the glass was already defrosted suggesting it had sat on a side for some time (and the resto wasnt busy).Likewise, requested the desert menu once finally got someones attention but no one bothered coming back to take order so just gave up....Suggestions: cut the imported steak in 1" thick slices and improve the service!
