Reviewed By rudybaliFor you who like Nature, wildlife, open sky and close to open water, this is the right place to spend your holiday, lots of activity you could experience, birdwatching, “deerhunting”, learning about Bali Endangered species, snorkling, kayaking is just part of it. Octagon Beach Club also a place you need to visit, food is superb, specially in the middle of a National Park. Staff is very helpful they know what to do to make our visit full of happiness.

Great guide for trekking!
Reviewed By Sean HWe actually didn't stay at this homestay (we stayed at one right behind it because we didn't know about this one and ours was nice, too). But, this homestay arranges for guides for trekking and we arranged to have Ropie guide us because he was recommended by another traveler we met. Ropie was GREAT! We ended up hiring him for two half days, first to trek to the waterfalls and through clove farms, and then to trek through the rice fields and coffee farms. Ropie speaks excellent English (when hiring a guide at this homestay, they set the price, which is very reasonable, and it is based on the English proficiency of the guide, medium or excellent; Ropie is considered medium, but we found his English to be fantastic). We had wonderful conversations and he was very interested in our culture and we in his, so we had a lot to talk about and learn about on our walks. He has always lived in Munduk and his family farms here, so he knows a lot about the life, the flora, and farming here. We highly recommend Ropie to anyone looking to walk around Munduk.

No AC, only a ceiling fan, the windows don’t shut fully and no mosquito protection, the bathroom was disgusting! There was rat faeces in the bathroom and it obviously hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, the shower was cold. The bed was comfortable (only good thing about the room). The pool was nice but there isn’t sunbathing facilities around the pool, they have beds (not sun beds) and they weren’t clean. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend.

Very pretty surroundings .... but not comfortable in hot weather!!
Reviewed By Janet WI chose this room based on pretty pictures on the booking site and a number of favorable reviews. In fact, the owner, Nila was, very friendly and kind. The garden was lovely. There was a table and chair on the small "patio" outside the room. The room was clean. The breakfast was fine. And the location was convenient. Being off the main road there was no traffic noise. The room was boiling hot and stuffy. Even the fan hardly helped. There was no window. I slept under the mosquito net with the door wide open and even then, it didn't cool off until almost morning. I slept very badly due to roosters crowing all night. I know this is often the case in Indonesia, but thought I should at least mention it. The open-air attached bathroom was also boiling hot during the day and I realized that evening that I shouldn't have left my toiletries case with medicine in the bathroom due to the heat and direct sun. The cold-water only shower had round stones to stand on ... not so comfortable. The room was not so spacious and there was very limited storage space to unpack and put your stuff. Although Nila assured me that there was wifi, I was unable to connect at all, and even the cellular data I had purchased with my local SIM card did not work at this guesthouse. I decided almost immediately after checking in that I did not want to stay here for the six nights I had pre-booked, so looked for another guesthouse right away. I came back in the afternoon and told Nila that I wanted to check-out and offered to pay her for that night, even though I wasn't going to sleep there. She insisted I pay for two nights which I did, so that's why I ended up sleeping there that night and moving the following day to another guesthouse, which didn't have a pretty garden, but for 50,000 Rp less, I had air-conditioning, hot water indoor shower, and wifi that worked. It's nice to have pretty surroundings and friendly hosts however basic comfort and a good night's sleep are more important to me.

Reviewed By zurich1313nice rooms with terrace, the bed was very comfy and also you have AC and mosquito net, very nice energy from the owners, they are around all the time to help you with tours or anything you need. 10minuts by walk to the beach. also you have an area to do yoga and fitness. good place to be close to buda temple and waterfalls and also the famous dolphin tour.
