This restaurant is in the Vitoria Stone Hotel in Evora and has great food and a great menu. This was without doubt our favourite of the restaurants that we ate at in Evora. Located away from the centre near the city wall and ring road, this family-run restaurant serving local dishes is well worth seeking out. Without pretension the place is welcoming with great food and service and very reasonable prices. I'd say booking is advisable but not absolutely necessary, although it may become so later in the evening. I had the pork ribs with migas, my wife the tuna with garlic and pink peppercorns and we'd commend them both. We'll definitely return here.

On an October Saturday evening, my wife and I practically had this tiny, unassuming gem of a restaurant â which during the high season can demand long waits â to ourselves. And what a treat, with wonderfully rustic Portuguese fare enjoyed in the cool autumn air by a centuries-old Roman aqueduct. Be sure to order the mushrooms and the pork cheeks.

Nice ambience in what feels like a family-run restaurant. For starters we had the tuna pate, the black pig blood sausage and the olives. The sausage is really good. For mains we shared two pork dishes: the casserole with chestnuts and the black pork fried steak. Both great with chestnut dish winning between the two. Decent bottle of wine and with dessert, all very good value.

I don't mind paying good money for good food, but when the menu is so expensive, comparing to much better places in Portugal, it is sad.I ordered the goat cheese salad, which was a medium size salad, some lettuce, tomatoes, nice cheese, with VERY sweet sauce and no balance of flavors at all. Nothing delicate, just overpowering tastes. I guess the dish was supposed to be sophisticated. It really wasn't. Like a still in school chef. 9 Euro for that salad!!! Then came a pasta dish with sauted vegetables and mushrooms. Almost no flavor and no depth to this anemic dish. It is so easy to make a good dish with such fresh ingredients. It feels like this restaurant just ignores a growing group of vegetarian and vegan costumers, who want to eat a proper fine dinner,with some innovative touch and depth and creativity. To pay 9 Euros for very simple salad with very bad dressing, and 14 (!!!) Euro for a SMALL portion of average pasta, you can easily make better at home... That is just an insult for costumers. One of the worst places I ate in Portugal. No value for a lot of money.

Made reservations and were confirmed by email in August and again the day of the reservation. 13 guests arrived. Owner welcomes us, thanked us, and said we would be treated like family. Handed out menus. Some other guests came in and suddenly he forgot we had a reservation and told us that he would not serve us and kicked us out. Restaurant was very small and overly warm. We left and went elsewhere. Spent 100âs and 100âs of euros elsewhere. Much food and wine. We were very happy with our food and service. Sat outside and enjoyed the weather and the initiation of the freshmen of the university. THANKS FOR KICKING US OUT!First of all I never accepted reservations by Facebook because that is not the official account. That account is manegemenging by a relative of my which never give me the feedback. My official account is on the TRIPADVISOR or on my website page on Google Business.I am a very hard worker man and I treat every customer like my best friend. Ivm not rude. I explained to you but you didn't believe me. Like you said "I'll be made a bad reviews about you on your TripAdvisor page" and you did it, so know you are Happy for sure, because your 'revenge' is complete and you didn't spoke with me before. Every dish is wonderful and extremely well priced. We loved it so much we went back again 3 days later. You will experience flavours you have never had before. Iâm not a foodie but this stuff is good. $5-8 euros for most of the share plates. 3 dishes and a bottle of wine about $40 euros. Very reasonable. This guy should be on one of those Master Chef shows. Heâs a genius with food.

Arrive hungry, donât even consider breakfast, have one coffee and a litre of water then prepare yourself for a feast.You MUST book, whilst sitting in the restaurant they turned about 10 people away because they were full.The food just comes at you, no choice, which, sometimes is a blessing, it was all great, it was all unsophisticated but all delicious, the green sludgy looking thing Is not to be missed, amazing, made with Coriander, garlic, bread, vegetables olive oil and a bit of vinegar, the neck of black pork, cooked for 3 hours in wine and herbs fell off the bone and was scrumptious. To start, a compendium of local tastes that include what can only be described as a mini Swiss fondue (I could have eaten just that to be honest). Jao who runs the place is utterly charming and will look after you. This ainât fine dining in the biblical sense but you must go here.

No booking possible, the first arrived will be the lucky ones. Such therefore means you need to get there at least 30 minutes before restaurant opens.Once in, you'll have a pleasant moment, having nice dishes from Alentejo mostly about meat; probably discussing with few other customers surrounding you.That said, experience was very good but not amazing given food which was not reaching sky and prices remaining rather high.
