This restaurant was recommended to us by locals. The menu offered something for everyone. Traditional French food which was enjoyable. The views are incredible. The stars and moon were amazing. The service was so friendly and we were made to feel very welcomed. Thank you.

We have just spent a very pleasant evening with a charming French couple who run this restaurant. We had a great meal, my husband had steak tartare which he described as wonderful and I had Moules with a Rochefort sauce mmmm. We then had a cheese platter and home made tart, Everything was very tasty but best of all was the friendliness and fantastic service. We walked to the restaurant from our B&B and they even offered to drive us back as it was getting dark. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

We were recommended the restaurant and booked a table for our family. The maitre d' indicated on the phone a wish that we should be there on time. We were unfortunately 5 minutes late and without a mobile signal to inform the restaurant. However, on arrival although we were suitably apologetic but he'd already given away our table, with no other availability. We were of course 'bang to rights'... he had requested us to be there at 8.30pm. But for him to have given our table up in what must have been 4 minutes, as the people were already seated at our table and looking at the menu, is surely ludicrous in most people's view.It might have been acceptable if he'd dealt with this in a friendly, sympathetic manner. Instead, an overt, loud and gauche indication of his distain for tardiness across the heads of diners eating al fresco silenced all of the seated customers, who mostly looked on with disbelief.A gallic shrug is one thing, but insulting and dismissive attitude to customers is quite another.

We stopped here on the way back from Lussan. We had lunch in the garden under lovely shady trees. The garden was excellent and adjacent to fields of sunflowers. We chose the Cochin , the Meagre fish and the steak fillet. My piglet was lovely, beautifully cooked and presented. The others enjoyed the fish and my husband described his fillet as one of the best. The staff were both friendly and extremely correct. The rosé was cold and crisp- perfect accompaniment !On such a lovely warm day it was hard to leave.

We enjoyed lunch here in this shady restaurant by the banks of the river. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. We chose the Gambas and frites from the menu and thoroughly enjoyed them. We finished our meal with Cafe Gourmand which was also delicious. The atmosphere was bustling but the service was swift and efficient. Definitely to be recommended!

Service was very friendly. Plenty of seating inside and out. Food choice was quite varied. I had the lamb and partner the beef. Nice beer too and not too expensive either.
Café - restaurant NouLou. Open from Monday to Sunday from 12.00 to 14.20 and 18.00 to 22.00 a bientôt!
Had dinner here with our family. Even though it was busy, the waiters were attentive and the food was brought quite quickly. The food we ate was delicious, all very fresh and tasteful. The meat was just right. Desserts were lovely as well. A very pleasant surprise in this otherwise quiet town.

We went for lunch at La Detente but turned up without a reservation which was not a good idea! However, the staff there were excellent and despite being full managed to find a table for us. Don't do what we did and make sure you book ahead! The atmosphere at La Detente is very relaxed and the food was very good. Overall we had an excellent lunch there and I would go back again but make sure I book a table.

Cosy little restaurant run by owners Gérard and Caroline. Caroline is the chef and does her magic in a tiny open kitchen overlooking the dining-room, while Gérard takes care of service and wines, and makes everybody feel specially welcome. Caroline's cuis
A very small, casual, out-back type place. Run by a couple, she as cook, and he, waiting on the tables. Several options on the menu were not available. Food was average. The zucchini gratin was floury and pasty. The foie gras on the beef had a strange texture. The profiteroles were homemade, very good, but a shame they put a low-quality industrial ice cream with it. Did not really appreciate seeing a dog wandering around inside the kitchen.Hello,I am sad to hear that your meal with us has not been as satisfying as we would have wished it to be.All our dishes are homemade from fresh ingredients -- no ready-mades coming out of the freezer! Therefore, sometimes one or two items from the menu may be missing due to unusually large demand on a given day. We sincerely regret this but it is the only way for us to serve you the freshest meals possible. We prepare everything in small quantities, making sure nothing stays in cold storage for more than one or two days.As I said, everything is homemade -- except for the ice cream, indeed! In France, restaurants churning their own ice cream have to face very severe regulations involving costly equipment that few care to invest in. We therefore buy our ice creams -- but I can assure you it is not "low-quality industrial ice cream", as you describe it.And as for dogs in the kitchen: my open kitchen is inside the dining room and of course my dogs do not have access to this space at any time of day, as customers eating indoors can easily verify. In summer they live in the courtyard at the back of the restaurant and every night they eagerly await the end of evening service, when the last customers are leaving and they are allowed to cross the dining room (at full pelt, in general) for a stroll outside. Otherwise, they do not set foot in the restaurant. We thank you for leaving a comment on our restaurant and we sincerely hope to see you again at l'Auberge d'Auzon.Caroline ClaveiroleChef-owner
