The population was 23,123 at the 2010 census, up from 17,126 at the 2000 census. Kernersville is located at the center of the Piedmont Triad metropolitan area, between Greensboro to the east, High Point to the south, and Winston-Salem to the west. Some of the rural farmland surrounding the town has been sold and turned into large middle-to-upper-class housing developments, and numerous large shopping centers have been built in the town over the past few years. Flue-cured tobacco was the major crop grown in the area and is still grown in some areas today. While Kernersville went through a growth spurt in the first decade of the 21st century, it has leveled off and farms are doing well for the most part in an attempt to revitalize the agricultural community.

We visited the restaurant for breakfast this week. The food and service were perfect. The French toast features thick slices with powdered sugar. I had an egg and sausage plate with grits. Tasted creamy and were a great compliment to the plate. Hope to visit for lunch soon! Great prices too.

Decent food for late at night stop after a long drive. Coffee so-so. Prices very reasonable. We got a piece of salted caramel cake to go and two of us ate half the first night and the other half the second night - that's how rich it was.

Had an early morning breakfast here with my wife.Food was good , nothing special . What you would expect from a chain style restaurant. No surprise , which is nice sometimes.Waitress was pleasant.Price was reasonable.

They were busy when we walked in and there was really only one table left. We have been into quite a few waffle houses and even though they get better they usually have no problem keeping up well that was not the case at all today. We sat down and waited and waited, another lady said oh she will be right with you. Waited and the lady who was our waitress said I will be over soon. She was doing something at the register, well after doing several things at the register, talking and cleaning up a table all before she even came over to us we were getting ready to leave and she finally came over and asked if we were ready. I really wanted to say are you serious we were probably sitting there for close to ten minutes which is ridiculous, we have never been in a waffle house that took that long. We ordered eggs, hashbrowns and toast. My boyfriend ordered wheat toast dry and lightly toasted they buttered because she failed to tell them. When my boyfriend ordered he got 2 eggs over medium but he wanted them done a little bit more so they weren't slimy when he tried explaining she cut him off and said eggs over medium well done. When he got them they didnt look very good and hardly any yolk left. Just a very disappointing trip esp the waitress and it was our last meal before we went home.
