Nothing better than finding out family run restaurants. A really nice breakfast, very friendly staff, really good pricing and Liz came over to say hello. Most enjoyable, will go back for lunch.

Was searching for somewhere to eat an early supper (it was 4:30 pm), and the place did not open until 5:00 (note that this is not a 24-hour diner). There is approximately seating for 100. The waitress was training. Good menu. Prices were average. Food was tasty, but nothing spectacular. Not sure how long they have been open, but seemed as if they were very disorganized. Will let the new wear off and maybe return for early breakfast next time in the Rivergate area.

The Greek gyro was good. The chicken and eggs I would not order again. The eggs and gravy were simple eggs and gravy. The diced potatoes were good. I was disappointed in the chicken strips, they were fried with a hard dark crust and some of the chicken meat was tough.

The Red Rooster is what I would call a "meat and three" type restaurant. Hendersonville, Tn has several restaurants like this but The Red Rooster does it all. They serve breakfast and lunch. They offer quick service. Their staff is always friendly and very attentive. The food is great and they offer my favorite, salmon croquettes. They make these like my mama made them. No, the atmosphere here is not sophisticated like the big name restaurants, but the people here are warm and friendly, the tables are clean and I always feel welcome each and every time I go in to eat.
