Storming Crab

On the recommendation of a friend, decided to try this place while doing some shopping in the Rivergate area. Really had no idea what to expect, but it was a very unique experience. They provide a bib and gloves, so we thought that was odd. The cheese toast was delicious! There are several selections to choose from and they bring a bucket of food to the table. You literally eat out of a bag (then we understood the reason for the bib and gloves)! Everything was so tasty...we left very satisfied.

My wife and I were here for dinner before an Opry show, the aquarium was beautiful, that’s where it stopped. We got fried calamari, no flavor, I got broiled captains platter and my wife grilled shrimp, nothing had flavor, everything overcooked and rubbery. The stuffed crab was just wet mush along with the stuffed shrimp with no actual seafood in stuffing. I loved seafood, I couldn’t eat it, I rarely complain, but actually made me lose my appetite and feel sick.

Date night. Dinner and a movie. Let's try Red Lobster for the first time.We were seated immediately during dinner rush on a rainy Friday night. Our server was Cody F. and he was outstanding! It seemed that we never needed to look for him as his timing was excellent. He kept our meal pace just right, with great attention to detail. If we return...he will be our server again. Now on to the food. My wife and I both love fish and chips. We do. So we frequently order it, and figured that Red Lobster would have the best fish and chips ever! Snap. We split a bowl of clam chowder which was pretty good, and our appetizer was seafood stufed mushrooms, which were fantastic. We eagerly awaited our entrees. The meals arrived right on time...hot. We first noticed that the fish looked like assembly-line pieces, many of uniform size and nothing special. They were assuredly not hand-dipped...not even close. They looked like they came out of the freezer and were dumped into the fry basket. And guess what? That is how they tasted. This is what I would expect from Sonic, but not from Red Lobster. My wife ate 1 piece and asked for a box. I ate a few pieces, but chose not to finish them. The chips/fries were average and the cole slaw...meh.To be fair...I cannot spreak to the quality of the highlighted menu items. I think we shall return and try something different...more exotic. But...having said that...a "Seafood Restaurant" with fish and chips on the menu...should get it right. I mean...how hard can it be? They should be the BEST fish and chips ever! Nope.Bottom line: service is excellent, but fish and chips needs improvement. We'll try again.

This was my first time. This was good food. Remember this is fast food. This is better than Long John Silver and J.J. Fish. Food was nice and hot. Even when I got back to the hotel. My favorite were the hush puppies. Serving was enough.
