Where to eat Contemporary food in Jerez De La Frontera: The Best Restaurants and Bars

September 2, 2020 Kiesha Cripe

Find out what Contemporary restaurants to try in Jerez De La Frontera. Southwest of Seville, Jerez is a well-heeled place. It’s the home of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art and its famous dancing horses; if you’re on a budget or can’t be there for a formal performance, it’s worth dropping in to catch a morning training session. The other major reason to visit Jerez is to sample its most famous product—sherry. You can do this at a number of bodegas associated with the world’s best-known brands, including Bodegas Tio Pepe, The House of Sandeman, Jerez, and Pedro Domecq. They’ll soon have you knowing your amontillado from your oloroso. There’s also an Alcázar, dating back to the time of the Almohads, which features a small mosque, now the chapel of Santa María Real.

Most quality restaurants are closed in Jerez on Modays but I discovered this excellent venue. I had very enjoyable evening with excellent service and equally excellent food. Staff were very attentive and helpful and I started my meal with a dressed potatoe salad with Tuna, which was delicious. Often starters are rather bland but not this - very tasty yet subtle. For my second course I chose the grilled Octopus with potatoes and vegetables and it was superbly cooked - melted in the mouth not like chewing rubber Bands! I would certainly recommend this restaurant - and very reasonably priced.

This restaurant has an excellent menu including both meat and fish, the prominent display of beef does not indicate that this is a steak house! The wine list is also excellent including wine made by prominent makers from the region (don’t look for a familiar Rioja try something different). We ate in the restaurant which is beautifully decorated in a contemporary style, the food was marvellous and the service just right, efficient but happy to discuss the options.Top Tips :- This IS an authentic modern Spanish restaurant with a tapas bar.To eat in the restaurant book for 9.30 or later and look up some Spanish phrases. Jerez is a real Spanish city, not Torremolinos so there is no reason why waiters should be able to speak the language of your home country. If you try then they will help you out if they do speak English etcSmart casual dress is normal when eating out in Spain but there are seldom any set rules - if you arrive dressed for the beach or a hiking trip you may feel uncomfortable but that is not the restaurant’s fault. We live in Jerez and will be dining at Hnos Carrasco tomorrow night with friends, I know that they will have a great night!

Found this place on TA, near to Hotel Villa Jerez. What a great recommendation! This place is unassuming, in a bit of a rough neighbourhood but extremely popular with locals for good reason. We had really good and reasonably priced food and drink there - and went back for a second go. Arrive at 8.30 pm if you want a table.
