Established in Alesund since 1991. Totally renovated in 2017. Modern and cosy decor with focus on Asian and seafood dishes. You can find Chinese (Szechuan, Cantonese), Japanese and Thai food on the menu.

Tourists visiting Norway realistically ought to be seeking out and eating Norwegian cuisine but after doing so repeatedly during a two-week trip, my wife and I decided that we wanted to switch to Asian food at least for one night. Based on TripAdvisor reviews, we choose the Oriental Bar over the several others that are located in Alesund and we were glad that we did. The restaurant offers a wide selection of entrees which almost makes selecting just one difficult. On the other hand, the food, if not spectacular, was filling and very, very good. Our waitress, who proudly told us about her former home in southern Thailand, made our dining experience even more special. The Orient Bar is easy to reach from most major hotels â we walked over from the Radisson Blu just around the corner â and everyone who is hungry should seriously consider it just as we did. It is hard to imagine anybody being sorry if they do.Thank you so much for the postive comment! Yes, we are proud of our food and of our staff. Welcome back next time you visit Alesund.

I had the pork with sweet and sour. Very good. Perhaps a bit sweet sauce. All others in our party received descent size meals.

wanted to try somre thai food, sine à lesund is sport of thai restauranta. Bit skeptic to places who serve everyting. Ref meny with burgere and chips . But food was spicy and good. To bad its a bit of placed traficvise.

Magnificent interior decoration, typical Chinese styled decoration. Just after 10 minutes, our food was served, real fast service. We enjoy our fried vegetables and stir fried pork with pepper sauce. The toilet was clean and conducive. There is also a small playground for children.
