After biking from Bern early on a Sunday morning this place is a must, fresh and warm filled bagels and the home made ice tea is highly recommended.They were even serving free cremè caramel this morning..A delight with great service.

It was a rainy day on our first visit to Thun, and we were looking for a place for lunch. We were a bit leery of going to a place with an English name, but went in and were floored. There was a wonderful array of local meats, cheeses, wines, and beers. The menu was a challenge for my limited language skills, so they asked if I'd just like them to make me a sandwich - the only question was whether I was a "plain ham and cheese kind of guy" or wanted something more adventurous. I chose the latter, and in a few minutes was served a work of art. Everything, from the thin, chili-crusted dried beef to the chewy sourdough bread, was exquisite. If our stay had been longer I would have been happy coming here every day.Dear PeterThanks so much for your nice feedback. BTW. the name Simplyfine sounds in Swiss German the same as it is written in English but would look differently and unfortuantely not understandable by guests from other cantons or countries. Thats why we decided to go for Simplyfine in English;-) also much easier when it comes to social media. A young and yet experienced team conjures up a variety of dishes from carefully selected products. The emphasis is on serving the products as close as possible to their natural state, some raw or minimally cooked in order to preserve their original flavour and taste.The kitchen is directly open on the dining area, and you can watch the chef stirring a soup or sprinkling herbs on a plate. The open spiral staircase leads up to the mezzanine, from where you can see the lower hall and the kitchen area, as well as view the street. Our group of twelve hikers had booked a table on the mezzanine.Among the interesting proposals on the menu, I noticed a ''no'' (no meat) pizza served on a large wooden board, elegantly presented and very tempting. For lunch, I chose a vegetarian mild curry, served with rice, vegetables in their sauce, and an unexpected crown of... popcorn! It was a tasty course, to which I added some chili oil as I often do with exotic dishes. While waiting for this to be served, I ordered a glass of (German) Riesling white wine, fruity and pleasant, and ended the meal with an expresso. Nice place in front on the river.Kind staff.Three options available for having breakfast. All include 2 small brioches, jam or honey and butter, 2 hot beverages (tea or coffee or cappuccino, ...).
