Balcony with a view!
Reviewed By gillfergHaving missed our flight due to border controls in the climate of Covid 19 we had to stay a night before going home. The very kind proprietor made us very welcome despite all the closures. Our room was spotless, beds comfy and the view of Mont Blanc awesome. She was very apologetic that the restaurant was closed but recommended the local Co-op so we bought food and wine and dined in style on the balcony watching the twinkling lights of Thonon and Evian. Next morning we were given a fabulous breakfast. The dining room and open kitchens were amazing. So sorry for us but mostly for the owners that they had to close at that time. Hopefully things will return to normal soon and would definitely recommend.

Open 7 days a week. Only at 5 min. from the A-One Business Center at Rolle, midway between Genève and Lausanne, overlooking the Léman Lake in the quiet village of Bursinel. All of our rooms have TV, WIFI and a private bathroom.

Reviewed By pandamokNourriture excellente mais pas de plat du jour à midi. Donc il faut choisir sur la carte du soir, relativement cher. Si on ne prends que un plat principal, la quantité de nourriture est un peu limite - très peu de frites avec les filets de perches à 45 francs tout de même. Service moyen aussi - j’ai demandé un vin blanc de la région, on m’a servi de l‘yvorne (alors qu’ils ont des vins des villages alentours) qui devait être le plus cher de la carte. Je n’y retournerai pas de sitôt ...

Very good hotel with some pitfalls
Reviewed By Rafael SRooms are nice, large shower and bathroom, no bidet. Comfortable and well heated in winter. They have a restaurant open for lunch and dinner, although expensive. You can get a freshly made croissant or pain au chocolat from across the street at the bakery for 2 euros. The hotel does not serve breakfast. Also across the street you have the Tea Room, for breakfast or lunch at excellent prices and wide selections. The only problem I found at this hotel is the bedsheets. The top sheet is integrated into the comforter (edredon) and is too short. The sheet is set at a waist height and it is not long enough to wrap at the bottom under the mattress, so your feet stay uncovered. Very strange way to make a bed and quite uncomfortable. We had to add a second comforter on top to compensate and it made it a bit heavy.

But above all, the crew makes you feel like home. For instance, Margaret, Ricardo and Eliane treat me like good old friends. This is a must-go hotel, mostly in these uncertain times.

Reviewed By guyjcaif you go to Geneva , and do not need to be in central Geneva , there is a hotel for you with an outstanding restaurant to go with it. L'Ecu Vaudois is an historical inn in the village of Begnins . I stayed there previously, 2 years ago, and returned 3weeks ago.Situated in a 20 minutes train ride from downtown Geneva. under a new ownership, with Walter and Roberto, the hotel has been modernized and meets anyone requirements. spacious , excellent beddings, Italian shower. international TV flat screen. and very quiet neighborhood. the restaurant is outstanding with Swiss and Italian fares, with reasonably priced by Swiss standard and below US prices for such gastronomy. in my 3 weeks stay, we catered the restaurant 3 times with family and friends. the breakfast is first class and custom made to your liking and preference. in addition they have a free courtesy car service to the Geneva airport. I can only highly recommend this establishment.

There were not refrigirator at room and there were not any heater at my room too. It was too cold when nights. And i wanted to change my room but the personal did not care. Do not go this hotel.

Disappointing
Reviewed By 130berniehLooking for a B&B with character, forget it. Studio located at the second floor of an annex of rented appartements, the building is very impersonal, with an isolation that can be improved, and a terrace with view on an open storage area. A bed (too high) doesn't change the full picture: from all the B&B we visitied in France and UK, this one is from far the poorer one. No wardrobe nor any place to store your clothes, very minimal room service. A good breakfast and the fact the building is new does help: we won't return there anymore and won't recommend it.

Very Good Restaurant -- worth a detour!
Reviewed By saeta26We (a friend and I) had a very nice 6-course dinner at the restaurant at Au Cavalier (St. George). It's about 30 min by car from Lausanne, but worth the detour. The food was fantastic. The service and general ambiance were also very good. I can only talk about the restaurant. Didn't actually stay at the hotel, but it is at a fantastic location, with a great view of Lake Leman, so assume it would be nice to stay there too.

could have been better
Reviewed By KinsbinsArrived on a Monday at about 6.30 pm. Absolutely no-one to be found. A helpful neighbour located my room key so that I could gain access.. The restaurant, although billed as open 7/7 does not open on a Monday! Beware as there are no other restaurants in Gilly the nearest town is Rolle which is 5 km away! As I had no car this was a problem! There are no English channels on the tv apart from CNN and the dvd player in my room did not work the Wi-Fi connection was intermittent! The room was clean and tidy and breakfast was traditional continental fare. However the restaurant burst into life on night two and the meal was very good indeed although I would not hurry back!
