It's getting more and more difficult to find decent places in the area with overrated prices and low quality food. Les Platanes is however, in my humble opinion, an exception to the rule.
After hearing and Reading some good comments, we elected the place as the venue for my beloved one's birthday.
To start with, the chanterelles mushrooms were just fabulous with no sand in it (sounds obvious but not always the case) and coming with a delicious creamy sauce (a bit more of that sauce would have even been nicer) whilst the scallops and prawn salad boosted cooked to perfection sea delights (not the usual overcooked chewy stuff you often get).
The fresh perch filets from the lake were excellent and a special mention for the generously served beef tartar (prepared and seasoned to your taste at the table - traditional but getting very rare).
So, yes, the bill does not come cheap but you get a real value for money.
Together with an attentive, professional and smiling service, Les Platanes scores a well deserved "Excellent" rating.

I had the great pleasure of eating here again this visit to Nyon. I love this place!! Great service and atmosphere - but even better food. The mixed salad; the crayfish and guacamole; the mussels and the perch - all shared with a colleague - one of the best meals I have had in a long long time. So good! Do visit.

Having been there many times, we consider that this is a solid choice in Nyon for lunch, dinner or Saturday branch.
All plates of the-short menu-are interesting and well prepared. Service is effective and friendly and the inside of the restaurant is particularly cosy in winter. The resto is not cheep.
What we like to see is the menu to change more frequently and follow the seasons.

We were two couples and we visited this excellent restaurant for lunch. Although a very popular restaurant the service was nevertheless quick and excellent, and the food was outstanding. It had a great atmosphere helped by the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. We had reserved a table at the top Terrace and, because of its well-deserved popularity, I would recommend that you reserve. Recommended without hesitation.

A fantastic choice of flavours for both icecreams and sorbets. Every season, new creations are added. I think I've tried every one of them and still have a hard time making up my mind which ones to sample! Always end up taking two scoops...
Prices are average, scoops a good size. Service - especially when they know you - is usually very good. However, on a hot summer's day, especially when hords of tourists come off the boat from the nearby lake, there can be quite a queue. Even 5 employees have a hard time serving everybody and may get a little flustered...
For those visiting Rolle, there is a smaller Venezia shop opposite the castle, on the main road.

Picture the scene: a small (very) village 25 minutes away from the small(ish) city of Geneva where you eat better quality cuisine than in any of the global metropolis, made with fresh and flavourful ingredients in season, served with a smile. The watermelon gaspacho special is stunning and the tuna tartare, consisting of large-ish pieces which you eat with a knife and fork, will stay in my taste buds for a long time. That's it, I must move there...

We were driving along the lake hoping to find a nice, local restaurant with good food and service. That is exactly what we found. Couldn't fault the evening, the food, the service. It was perfect. They even provided a special vegetarian meal for me which was delicious and the starter was large enough for us to share.
Beautiful family run restaurant in the countryside. Go!

Such a homely restaurant family run delicious food fresh everyday with a new menu apart from the normal specials set in the midst of a beautiful charming Swiss village.
Simple excellent quality food in a very pretty restaurant had the pleasure of eating outside the service is excellent friendly and attentive.
