Did you know that St. Gallen Youth Hostel is just 11 kilometres or 15 minutes by train from Lake Constance? The historic old town and the trade-fair complex are also just a few minutes away on foot. Surrounded by a peaceful green belt, the youth hostel offers a fascinating view over the roofs of the town thanks to its hillside location. Close by are many walking and hiking routes as well as some of Switzerland's most beautiful natural swimming pools, the "Dreilinden" nature-garden pools.
Clean budget accomodation
Reviewed By SirleeolgitA basic but very clean hostel, just out of town 25 min walk uphill or a 5 minute ride on the Apenzeller Bahn to Birnbeaumen Halte from the AB station next to the SBB. As with most hostels you make and strip your own bed, the toilets and showers were spotless. the room was warm as no aircon and day time temperatures of 30+. There was a basic buffet breakfast included in the price. We were given a transport pass for the area as part of the deal for all public transport. I could not fault it, If you are on a limited budget it is good value.

Nicht nur das Rosenwappen der Stadt blickt auf eine lange Tradition zurück: Auch das auf einer Anhöhe erbaute Schloss mit Rosengarten und die verzierten Häuser der Altstadt erzählen Geschichten aus der Vergangenheit. Vom Schlosshügel aus hat man einen wunderbaren Ausblick auf die Umgebung. Und auf einem Bänkli unter den Linden kann man über den nächsten Ausflug sinnieren: Kinderzoo, Alpamare, Schiffrundfahrt, Wandern, Seebad, oder doch lieber Wasserski? Auch in unserem familienfreundlichen Hostel im Grünen gehen dir die Ideen nicht aus! Neben einer Spielwiese mit Kinderspielplatz und Pingpong-Tisch verfügen wir auch über einen Raum mit Flipperkasten, Tischfussball, Taifun und Musikbox.
All-in-all its fine
Reviewed By lollob89Me and other friens have slept here because we were racing the IronMan triathlon race. The place was only 1km away from the Start area, in the middle of the countryside. Beds are fine, as also the bedrooms in general. The bathrooms are common to all rooms but they were clean enough. There are charges for almost anything to take into account, but for sure is the most affordable place in Rapprerswill to sleep in (parking lots, bikes etc.).

Poor beds, terrible pillows and difficult to access if late
Reviewed By StarbarrCalled on a cycling holiday. Arrived late and could not enter building. Took 30 mins for someone to help us on intercom/phone. Eventually got in. Rooms ok for a youth hostel however pillows rubbish. Breakfast nice and staff in morning very good. Will not be returning.

Reviewed By ZoranDj021Am 01.01.2021 angekommen und warm empfangen - zum Abendessen war sehr angenehm und lecker, Kinder kommen nicht zu kurz. Die neue Anlagen sind sauber und funktional einwandfrei. Nachtisch war hervorragend ?. Billig ist in CH nichts ?.
