Nice to see DD making a comeback in the area. This is the latest new store to open up, and is right at the corner of Bypass Road and Nappanee Street on the west side of Elkhart. All your favorite donuts, friendly service, and easy in-out from the road. They have a drive thru, too.

Set in an older building in the original downtown area, it did indeed feel like an "old style" deli. Food was delicious. Staff was warm and friendly. Locals seemed to love it as it was filled with them! I had a side order of coleslaw with a chicken sandwich.

The first time I bought lunch here I was extremely happy. I bought the chicken salad and it was delicious. The girl at the counter was very pleasant and patient. A large serving that I actually shared with my daughter. A big thing for me was that it had no onions at all. Flash forward to the next time I went. They were understaffed, the line was so long that it wound around the store displays. The girl at the counter seemed to be drowning. As expected, I left without ordering anything. The third time I tried going later in the day. I could definitely tell that the girl making the food when I walked up was sick. The cashier was pleasant and helpful but when I asked to make sure there were no onions in the chicken salad (habit) she told me it was never made without onions. Really?? I ordered a different salad instead and inquired if someone else could make the food (don't wipe your nose on your sleeve...). Someone else made the food but then the container was handed to three separate people to try to close it and finally the girl at the counter just handed it to me open. Really?? I will give them another chance but right now cannot recommend visiting here.

Sitting on the RiverWalk and the food is really good. Even if it is a little chilly they have heaters. After our meal we took a walk on the beautiful RiverWalk.

After friends told us about this Cafe, we decided to try in on a Saturday Morning. With only a couple empty tables, I expected a wait for service and food as the waitresses seemed to be hurrying around. The Service turned out to be 'quick' and friendly. Since some items on the menu included 'HALF ORDERS", I suspected that the FULL orders must be quite large, so I asked for a description of the size of a full order. Sure glad we ordered a HALF ORDER as that was plenty for Senior Citizens, even when hungry. The food was HOT and good tasting, , and the service was great, along with very reasonable pricing. More than one waitress offered to fill the coffee cup several times, so you did not have to beg or wait until your meal was about done. ---- Yes, we will return- & YOU SHOULD TRY IT TOO. It is NOT a NEW MODERN facility, but clean, neat, well,kept, and the kind of Mom & Pop Cafe that turns out GOOD FOOD.

Superb onion rings, crispy, mot greasy at all. Toasted bun for my burger, lettuce, onion, pickle. Only negative was lettuce was wet & moistened the bun. Beef burger was well done, 2 napkin necessary. Half & half ice tea & lemonade. Place stayed busy. Carpet needed cleaning but service was attentive. Will return. Hard to find a good burger for my taste. I don't do the major chains.
