We had brunch here with our family recently and were very impressed with the food, the price and the service.As good as anything we can get in south melbourne and for a better price. Will definitely go back and sample some more from their menu.

Great service, we had a group of 15 and they were very accommodating for lunch.We did the Merricks to red hill train/trail walk and then lunch at the food on the hill cafe.Great food, everyone in the group loved the food.

What a great setting for lunch. I had the folded egg which turned out to be an omelette. Still it was very good. The coffee was great too.the only thing I wasn't impressed with was being charged extra when my husband and I decided to share a lunch dish!Thank you for your feedback and we glad you enjoyed your dining experience with us. Friends casual lunch at the General store.On a cold wet and horrible day, ask to sit near the open fire!First start with a wine tasting session adjacent to the restaurant.Great local drops covering all varieties. Pick a nice bottle or two to have with lunch.6 of us started with the sharing plate of anti pasta which was generous and delicious.We settled on the local Pinot noir to accompany lunch.All enjoyed the chicken pie and sadly Iâve forgotten the name of my lunch, (like a terrine style) but yummy!Atmosphere was great as the place was busy and full.Highly recommend a visit.

Popped in for a coffee on our way home. Just had coffee and smoothie. Food looked nice but very overpriced. I guess thatâs a location thing. Coffee looked terrible and tasted just as bad. Smoothies were average too for the price. Glad itâs not my local.
