We have been to another bbq place several times and wanted to try a different one. We debated between MissionBBQ and the one in Massillon, and decided on MissionBBQ. It is a counter style order system, the same as OC, and everything is separate. You order your meat or sandwich and then add the sides. There is kind of a deal on sides: one side and a drink for $3.30 and two sides and a drink for $4.40. I had a seasonal item: bbq shrimp (8 large shrimp) which were well seasoned without being obnoxious or overly seasoned, and my spouse had pulled pork (1/2 pound of meat) which comes plain and you have a choice of several bbq sauces on the table. Both were generous servings and sides were a decent size. Drinks are unending and you fill them yourself and they have the most delicious lemonade, plus sweet and unsweet tea and pop. Cutest, cleanest "shack" you can imagine. One very smart waitress manages the place, which is jumping at lunch. OK so it's tiny--only five booths, three tables and maybe ten stools at the counter--but excellent BBQ, smoked on site. Pulled pork our favorite. We are not ham lovers, but Kennedy's ham could change that. This is my go-to place for bean soup, which is not crazy salty as most soups are. I take a quart home so I can concentrate on a pulled pork slider for my lunch.

First night in town and took an Uber to John's Bar & Grille which ended up being closed on Sundays. Now stranded, walked across the street to Hog Heaven for a classic beer and light dinner. The bartender was very helpful and recommended the Hog Eggs as an appetizer, which was different and very enjoyable. I had a very good hamburger and my friend had the barbecue ribs which she thoroughly enjoyed. Seems to be a place where the locals go and a good stop for down home people and food.
