The back garden of Palais Besenval is a perfect location for an afternoon drink or apero. The majority of the outside space has natural shade, thanks to the beautiful trees. The view onto the river also provides a nice breeze. The service staff was friendly and competent, with orders taken quickly and drinks often refilled.

This is a great place for lunch or the evening. A micro brewery, yes they brew their own beer. Oeufi (local dialect) = Eleven in English. They serve a variety of great tasty beers, from light to dark. The food is also good. Simple, tasty, fresh and of good quality. Eat & drink inside or out. It's not the Ritz, but it does not pretend to be either. A good honest local brewery that serves good food. It's the "Oeufi Brauerei" (The Eleven Brewery) because eleven is the lucky number for the town of Solothurn. We had a good time there, so five spots awarded. Lots of free parking space too.

I have been going to this bar for almost every morning. I strongly believe that they have the best espresso in Solothurn but that is just a personal opinion. They have a selection of snacks like paninis and pizza and a great range of aperitifs.Staff is quick and helpful but have in mind that they might not speak english.

We ate here with our two sons. Most of us are vegetarian and the menu options didnât disappoint. The pizza and the veggie burger were exceptional. We tried a few Swiss and local beers and enjoyed them all. The service and staff were very friendly and helpful.

This is a cosy restaurant that has a limited menu (19 items on a board) plus an extensive drinks menu. The idea is to pick several (staff recommend 3) items as the equivalent of a full meal. When we visited, the menu contained meatballs, deer in a red wine sauce, chicken strips in white wine and maple syrup as well as soup, vegetables, chips, fried rice balls, a take on Austrian Knödel (a sort of dumpling) and fried rice balls. Water is free. Overall the food was good and tasty and the concept works well. The menu is in in Swiss German so you may need some help but the staff and friendly and the ambience is relaxed. We spent 77 Swiss France including 4 glasses of wine , 6 dishes for main course and an a shared dessert. Each dish was either 7 or 9 francs in our selection.

We arrived here for a Sunday brunch and we were not disappointed!! The selections are excellent and the drinks are delicious! The place is upbeat and caters to all ages but a more affluent clientele is prevalent! The town of Solothurn is very authentically Swiss and beautiful and the restaurant is beautifully situated close to the Aare River!!

As group of 5 we wanted something to eat for dinner but that seems not to be possible. The location is great as bar we had a table at the river side were we served for drinks only
