Staff were rude when asked to warm up breakfast as it was stone cold. Could see them all poking the fingers in the beans and then disgustingly warmed the same beans and put the back on our plate! Manager came out and shouted being very rude to us! Told we are not in England anymore and if the manager is 70 years of age so if she wants to shout she may...JOKE OF A PLACEYou were our first breakfast serving of the day and I will grant you that the beans may have been a little cold from the fridge, however your breakfasts weren't "stone cold" and the 3 of you finished your plates.Your accusation of staff sticking their fingers in your food and serving it back to you is outright slander and a lie, your breakfast's were transferred to a new clean plate, your cold beans were discarded and we provided 4 separate pots of fresh beans and tomatoes to your table.

Our annual Benidorm is never complete unless we visit this little gem. Had to postpone our visit as the owners were celebrating their wedding anniversary. Congratulations from all of us. We will be back same time next year. Great food, good measures, good value for money. Make sure you stop by. Everyone needs a break from the all inclusive buffets. Just down the hill from all the RH hotels. Already looking forward to my next lot of chips. Thankyou all so much for such a great review. Really happy you enjoyed your food and drinks. We look forward to seeing you all again next year .

I frequent the Universal often either for coffee or a snack lunch. The staff are friendly and efficient especially Joanna. Never in 15 years of going there have I had to complain about the food. It's good. I enjoy going to the Universal where I can have, coffee or lunch in a quiet environment and read the English newspaper which is provided. If I have a complaint it's the continual interruptions by the 'looky looky'' men selling cheap sunglasses, handbags, watches, trainers, blankets etc. This is not unique to the Universal. They are everywhere in Albir.Thanks George !!!! and yes it is a shame to have them again and again.. i know.. All the complains i made to the mayor has only a laugh as reaction...

We picked this restaurant as we wanted to try the tapas advertised in the ruta de tapa booklet. It was delicious. Very friendly staff, nice outdoor seating area. One suggestion - tidy up the ladies toilet area and it would improve the place no end :)

I was staying in Benidorm at at the wonderful Rainbow Rentals around the corner where Refuel was recommended to us for breakfast.I had a vegetarian breakfast with an egg exchanged for crispy bacon. The quality of the food was fantastic, a very nice change from the usual substandard quality in the area. Good value, good quality food cooked to perfection and a happy helpful host that nothing was too much trouble for. Lovely view overlooking the sea is also a bonus. I will be back with the girls. Just back from an amazing holiday in the very pretty Altea. We came to this bar a few nights whilst we were there and enjoyed it very much. The staff were really lovely and friendly, we had great mojitos and nibbles whilst watching the world go by. It's situated on one of the many pretty streets in Altea, near the church. We called in here on our way back from a visit to Guadalest... We ordered toasted sandwiches and Bocadillos, The toasted sandwiches hadn't been done long enough and were a bit soggy. One of the Bocadillos came with cheese and ham although cheese and onion had been ordered, as we had waited a long time we just put up with what came as we didn't want to wait any longer.

This is a great place to come to for a drink and a snack if you find yourself in Polop. This cafe is sited halfway up to the Castel and progress up the road is marked by attractive icons in small whitewashed turreted towers depicting the religious stations of the cross. There are also helpful information boards along the way telling you what the view is. The bar itself is on a piece of evel ground that has several picnic tables with sun covers giving fantastic views of the mountains. The food is mediocre but the reviews are good as compared with the other tappas bars in Polop it is better.
