We came here twice in our 10 days stay for the sunset drinks with awesome chilled out music seeing the sunset. Itâs overpriced on food drinks and cigarettes compared to the other restaurants literally next door but itâs the atmosphere you come here for.

The Drunken Monkey is perhaps the best bar in Hikkaduwa. Lovely big measures of rum for cheap prices, delicious pizza and curry, really friendly service. The bar's owner Kamari is so lovely, welcoming and professional, and the bar is well set out for watching the sunset or hiding from the rain. Lovely yoga classes from lily on the roof while we were visiting too. Hugely recommended!

The Surf Control Restaurant serves the best curry in town.We tried many different restaurants in Hikkaduwa, but this was really the most tastefulland creamy Curry. Rich of spices and flavours. The guys are very friendly and kind. This is the best, forget the rest:-)Thank you for the great review. The curry really is amazing it's one of my facourite dishes on the menu. We are happy you enjoyed your time at Surf Control and we hope to see you again in the future. Thank you for your custom.

Buddes is a great beach side bar. They got a pretty decent menu and more importantly cold beer. It's our favourite bar in Hikkaduwa especially at happy hour!

Came across Gaamaâs place just after arriving in Hikkaduwa.Gaama was so friendly and funny we returned there every night of our holiday.The rottis were delicious whether savoury or sweet,especially the banana and honey.Highly recommend the drink âArackâ,goes down very easily,and Gaama made sure I never had an empty glass.All the family were lovely people,and of course superstar Billy Boy!This rotti house is well worth a visit and a lot of return visits!

Nice place to seat with friends. Tables on the beach, goos atmosphere, nice music (not loud), medium quality food - u can eat, but u wish for bit better. Not cheap prices. Better to order sea food. Overall not bad place. Soft sea wind makes all your good mood. Recommended

We opted to come here for some lunch as there was a number of people there but most were just having drinks.The service was generally slow, but as is in Sri Lanka, so we just enjoyed the view.We had the chicken noodles which came quick and was nice. We had also ordered the fried prawns and calamari with fires and salad and when the waiter took our order we had to show him the item and repeat ourselves, but we still felt he didnât understand. 10mins after the noodles arrived we were given a plate of curry calamari with fries and salad and had to explain to the waiter again and show him the menu item, another 20 mins later just fries calamari arrived but with cold chips, we had explained this was still wrong but as the noodles had already been finished we just kept the plate. Unfortunately the calamari was tough and as the chips were cold most of it was left. We didnât get an apology for the service so wonât be coming back.Maybe just come for a beer in the beach
