We had the menu del dia three days in a row. At â¬10 for 3 courses, bread and a drink you cannot go wrong. Excellent Carrillada and natillas. Friendly staff. What more do you need?

Set in the heart of the beautiful Alpujarran village of Capileira this little cafe-bar ticked all the boxes for a wonderfully simple and unpretentious lunch.We only had a couple of glasses of wine and some relatively straightforward bocadillos but even the simple things in life can sometimes go wrong...here they are done right, in a beautiful location and at a very fair price.

The local cuisine is fantastic but my girlfriend had the Indian menu and it totally blew our minds how good it was. Subtle spices and flavours combined with superb Indian breads which far surpassed any we have had in Yorkshire. This lad can cook! The views and ambience are amazing with beautiful water features and vistas of the Alpujarras and the staff really make it homely and welcoming. Absolute diamond of a restaurant.Muchas gracias por su gratificante comentario sobre nuestro restaurante. Seguimos esforzándonos en mejorar y esperamos vuelvan muy pronto.

Fuenfria is an attractive well kept Alpurran bar. It is not open all year round but is open during the summer and busy weekends when there is a Spanish bank holiday or fiesta. Lovely bar and the food and tapas is good. The bar is open late at night and has a lively atmosphere with music playing.

We'd walked past this pretty courtyard bar several times since our arrival in Orgiva just over a month ago but it wasn't until last weekend that we popped in for a lunchtime drink. We hadn't planned to eat here; however, with every glass of beer (2,20 euros), we were brought a delicious plate of free tapas. First tuna and red peppers, then spicy pork and finally ribs. We vowed to return, which we did today and again enjoyed the variety and quality of tapas on offer: fish salad, another spicy pork dish and finally fish balls. Yesterday, in Padul, we paid a similar price for beer but didn't even get an olive with our drinks which made us realise what excellent value this place is. We hope to go again for a proper meal before we leave the Alpujarras in three weeks' time.
