Six of us had brunch on a Sunday afternoon outside on the deck. Very good selection of food from eggs to steak. All food was fresh and the portion size was very good. There was live music by a talented guitar player, but it was a bit too loud for easy conversation. Service was very good, but one diner had to wait for her dish after everyone else had been served. Dishes we enjoyed were the Whaler's Eggs Benedict with crab cakes, hamburger, bacon egg and cheese tacos, coconut french toast and avocado toast. The drinks were also well madeThank you for the great review! We're glad you had a great experience with us and we sure hope to have you back again in the future!
We missed happy hour by a half hour, it ended at 6! But we still enjoyed a good dinner. The Three of us ordered drinksâthe Painkiller and coconut margaritas. They were very good BUT the margaritas were very small, served in low ball glass with a lot of ice. What happened to Margaritas being served in margarita glasses???We ordered the classic musselsâthe white wine sauce had a kick and they were a nice size served with bread. The Cuban sandwich which was served with a side salad and fries and the loaded nacho platter. We all split it and could not finish!! It was a lot of food.

We enjoyed our selves.. staff is excellent.. and they try hard..I have been there 5 to 6 times.. When the bar becomes very crowded, and it does.. the food quality definitely takes a significant down turn, wings come out burnt, Burgers not cooked the way you asked.. beer comes a bit warm.. and the staff is so busy and very nice you donât want to ask them to recook or or redo your meal..

The Chowder Bar is a small place that has been around for a long time and is a favorite of the locals.I really enjoyed my Manhattan Clam Chowder and the Mussels in butter and garlic sauce. My wife had a salad that was absolutely amazing. If we still lived in the area, this would be a regular stop for us!

Let me start by saying plenty of parking that you read your parking spot and pay at the meters. Simple to do with cash or credit and just a 4$ maximum cash outlay. You can (dependent upon weather) have inside or outside seating. Nothing better than sitting by the water with raw clams and a few beers. Saw a few boats tie up to the dock and come in for food and drink. Clams are fresh and delicious. Range from little necks to middle necks though struck to top necks. Freshly opened and briny taste with horseradish and cocktail sauce. I had the tuna BLT with sweet potato fries. Tuna was raw as I had asked for it. Placed on a nice roll with crisp bacon. Fries come with some sort of maple syrup dip and was fantastic. Son had a burger and was cooked the way he asked for it. Service was good but could have come by to get drinks as we had to wait for more beers and ask a few times for mayo or another beerBusing the table was fast and efficient and always kept table clean for next round when it came. Prices not outrageous and highly recommended for an afternoon of relaxing and food

Southside Bar & Restaurant, a Bay Shore staple serving artisan food and craft cocktails since Prohibition. This "secret spot" will satisfy even the most discerning of diners.
We were going to a show at the Boulton Center and found the Southside. It was a cozy restaurant with a great bar. We got a table for two and were lucky to have Colleen as our waitress. She was awesome, making sure our dinner was out in time to make the show even though the restaurant was packed. I had a delicious burger & my husband loved his meal. We will definitely be back!

We tried swept away tonight. We missed happy hour by 20 minutes but ordered two wines to enjoy with dinner. My husband and I were surprised by the gourmet menu choices. It was hard to choose. We started with the butternut squash rice balls with chipotle sauce. There was 4 balls that we split. They were a good mix of sweet and spicy. The entrees were very large portions. I could only eat half. I had the grilled branzino with gumbo sauce and jasmine rice. Delicious!! My husband had the pistachio salmon that was incredible. I stood a few bites!

We make great burgers and have a lot of fun doing it! Partnering with local purveyors, Local Burger co. brings, hand-pressed craft burgers to Bay Shore.
Love the burgers and fries. Great hangover burger. Good variety of burgers and some decent alternatives if you don't want a burger. Service was fast and reasonably priced.

We visited first time on a beautiful summer Sunday afternoon. Parking can be a bit tricky but we found a spot. We waited at the bar a little over 20 minutes for an outdoor table for two. They were finishing up a bridal shower which overlooked the water...lucky bride! Our server, Jordan, was great. He was very helpful with suggestions about wine and menu choices. We enjoyed three selections from the tapas menu. Shrimp with garlic and lemon, Mediterranean plate and charcuterie plate. All were very fresh and tasty. They also serve olives and bread which are complimentary. We very much enjoyed our visit and are looking forward to returning soon!

I visited for the second time because my first time here was so wonderful. The food prep is fantastic and the presentation beautiful. But the best is the taste! Such wonderful flavors on all the dishes I have tried. This time, from the Brunch Menu, I ordered the Red Eye Benny, a poached egg on an English muffin, with glazed ham, tomato relish and paprika hollandaise sauce. It was scrumptious! I washed it down with a Peach Bellini. My fiancé ordered the Biscuit and gravy and there wasnât a crumb left on his plate! Another good meal. The rest of our group had equally delicious meals! You canât go wrong with a burger here, either! I look forward to another visit soon! Five stars for food and value, four stars for service. Highly recommend! You wonât be disappointed!
