I really love my Thai food - a lot! I am picky as I have had some really great thai. In my opinion, this was an average thai restaurant. Although it was clean and friendly, I felt that the level of authenticity was just not there. I ordered the Pad Thai which, although was a good portion size, it mostly consisted of loads of noodles with a brown sauce that is not your typical pad thai sauce. A very heavy hand had poured it on. With Thai food, a little goes a long way in terms of many sauces and my meal was a bit of a miss for them. I would consider trying other dishes as some others looked pretty good. Generally speaking though, Pad Thai should be done spectacularly well as it is such a popular dish. Naturally I was disappointed when it didn't hit the mark.

Our chef+q John did a fine job of cooking/entertaining and all 6 of us are satisfied.I wish you could request an expedited experience minus the comedy and wait. We just get weary waiting for our items and food cooks too much if you like it all at once.

We went here having missed it some months ago. We found it this time and glad we did. I sampled the Tom Kha Gai and the Green Curry. Generous portions, so I had the pleasure of a second helping the next day from my togo bag. This is a small restaurant but they have lots to offer. A nice find and will return.

This place has great food. We highly recommend them. The appetizers and meals were absolutely delicious. Sauces have a great taste as well. We never knew it was there until last night and are so glad to have found this place! We will definitely be back soon!

This is definitely a food trough mentality. Standard "Chinese" fare, a bit overcooked and somewhat greasy. Good taste of most items, and you can revisit the troughs as often as you like. I enjoy watching the families with big waists visit many times and consume huge amounts of food. Nice ladies checking in on you, and ready to refill you drinks whenever needed. The overall experience was OK, but nothing new or exiciting for it to stand out from all the other places around Summerville. Priced at the same levels as most of the other "Asian" restaurants.

My father wanted take-out, and I suggested Formosa. The owners are so delightful and friendly. I hadn't been to Formosa in a while since I don't live close by. But the owners greeted me like family. I read the other reviews. All I know is I am nice to the owners, and they are twice as nice back. My father just moved back to the area after living out of state for many years. It had been awhile since he had Filipino food. He had me surprise him, so I ordered lumpia, steamed dumplings, chicken curry, pork lo mein, and pancit guisado. The lumpia is and always be my favorite Filipino food. These were hot and crispy with the perfect dipping sauce. Extra sauce is only 50 cents more. The entrees come in only one size, and they were huge portions. We shared food with a third person, and there was still enough food for two more meals. The dumplings were delicate and tasty. My father said the pancit guisado was traditional as he hoped and quite good. We ate all the lo mein we could, and I swear it was in a bottomless box. The chicken curry order came with two scoops of rice. The curry had potatoes which is a rare but delightful find. I prefer curry with potatoes. The chicken was not boneless. I did not expect that, and we had no knives with us to cut the meat from the bones. Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and I went back this week for more. Can't wait for my father to ask for more Formosa.

Donât go here if you are searching for Japanese or even Asian food. Yakatori - maybe, yes. Small skewers of various meat choices over charcoal. The beef heart (I fondly recall anticuchos in Peru) and spicy beef were good. The fried chicken skin - meh. We have travelled extensively in Japan and throughout Asia and are still frustrated by the lack of this kind of food in metro CHS.As apps, they were out of octopus and squid (probably a good thing), so we had the fried salmon balls and fried pork belly (very greasy) - also not so great. The waitress comped us cups of clear mushroom soup - watery. Also a comp sip of âsake sangriaâ (in a disposable plastic condiment cup).Still hungry, we made the mistake of ordering the house salad - iceberg lettuce with overfried chicken nuggets and industrial ginger dressing (read: McDonaldâs). Ditto the dipping sauces. Right out of the bottle from any Asian supermarket.The service is of the (American youth) âHey, guys!â style (we are old enough to be our waitressesâ grandparents); efficient enough but excessively casual. The atmosphere itself is pleasant.âOne of the best restaurants in Summervilleâ indeed. But Summerville is a fast food town and I guess the locals are impressed. We wonât be back.

Lots of fun if you have never been to watch them cook your food in front of you, fling items in the air, light them on fire, etc. More food than you can possibly eat. The chicken was especially flavorful (I had shrimp and chicken combo). If you are looking for entertainment with the meal and don't mind being with strangers, this is the place to go. My kids thought it was great.
