We heard so many recommendations that this place was great, and we were not disappointed! The atmosphere is charming, and the service was very attentive and efficient. Many of the dishes were similar to Indian cuisine, and we loved all the flavors. We started with a mango lassi for everyone. My yak chili was very unique and delicious, and I appreciated that you could adjust the spice level for most dishes. My husband and I ended with some tasty dessert, too. I will absolutely return for more wonderful food here.

Whether you eat in the restaurant, take out, or take advantage of delivery service, it's probably the best Thai food around. Extensive menu of choices for every course. I loved my wonton soup and pad thai shrimp this last visit, but would highly recommend absolutely just about anything on the menu. Great atmosphere and architectural design. Local favorite.

nice little place, very noisy, staff were friendly, service pretty good for how busy they were. We tried an array of dishes of which the nasi bungkus was the best. The mantap Pandang was disappointing due to lack of Sumatran heat, tasted like ayam opor, sweet not spicy. In fact, most dishes tried tended to the sweet side as with central Javanese or Betawi influence. Will be back to try the oxtail soup and soto ayam and probably an increase in a star.

Super-busy spot, with convenient parking in attached structure. It can get noisy, if that's a concern. You can order off the (standard "check off items on a paper list") sushi menu, along with additional (tapas-style, if that helps to describe) hot bites and cold bites. This combination of offerings is especially helpful for those who aren't wanting only sushi. My dining partner raved about the salmon sushi, in particular. We both really loved the beet salad with goat cheese; so fresh and flavorful! I enjoyed the crabcakes very much. The New Zealand mussels were tasty, yet had a unique, pungent layer of a hot creamy I-don't-know-what! I liked it, but it could be too much and too strong for the unadventurous. (Don't be like me - ask the server what that mussel topping is!)Service was fast and evenly paced in the serving of dishes, particularly for such a packed house. The only reason for four stars and not five - some servers seemed genuinely interested in our needs; others came across as having zero personality. No server was rude, but the unevenness of the attitudes was obvious. In fact, the busboy was, by far, the most polite, efficient and polished employee we encountered - he'd do very well if promoted to server! In sum: high-quality food, fast service, uneven training of server attitudes. Management could easily observe which servers (and busboys!) outshine the others, and replace those who seem pained to be there. Don't rest on your laurels as being a currently popular spot; strive to improve each of your servers' approach.

We rarely eat at an Indian restaurant as most pale in comparison to home cooked food. This place was an exception. Its specialty Kerala (south west coastal India) cuisine was excellent. The buffet had a good range of dishes including fish curry that melted in the mouth at a bargain price. For a change food was not deep fried and oily as in most Indian restaurants. Healthy and tasty, a treat.

We picked this restaurant away from the main drag because it was conveniently close to our concert venue, McCabe’s Guitar Shop. So glad we did! The dishes were delicious, sized just right for a late night bite. I had the pork tenderloin, cooked medium rare with a rich, dark sauce and goat’s cheese mashed potato. My wife had the salmon, perfectly seasoned and served with couscous - not usually a favorite of ours, but very enjoyable in this preparation. Service was brisk and friendly, the wine list was comprehensive and reasonably priced, and the decor was pleasant to look at - large original canvases. It was a bit noisy, and tables were close together, but it suited our mood. A great find in a city with many restaurants, most not nearly as good as The Upper West!

As so many have noted, the food is both exquisite in taste and presentation. Several of the courses ranked among the best I have ever had. We also were very fortunate in that our dinner partners procured our reservation on the first try! I felt that the sake pairings weren't worth the price. They did not seem to accent the dishes the way a good wine pairing can -- though to be fair, I am not all that familiar with sake so perhaps it is my lack of experience. I also felt that the sitting should either be about a half hour longer or two dishes shorter -- we felt a bit rushed at the end.But in the end, the ambiance, service, food and presentation far outweighed the minor complaints and the experience was very much worth it.
